The cottage was perfect and exceeded our expectations! We arrived at the cottage a little later than the check in time, but, this wasn’t an issue - we got inside very easily and quickly. Every room looks exactly like the photos, they have such a cosy and relaxing vibe to them. We used the wood burner in the living room, it heated the upstairs within minutes. Alternatively, there is heating upstairs and downstairs which is just as effective. The bed was extremely comfortable and the cottage was spotless. A few bits and bobs were provided by Deanne such as tea bags, sugar, gravy etc, which was a pleasant surprise. Deanne also came to say hello and checked all was well. We would 100% recommend this cottage and we would definitely stay here again. There is no service here which may be an issue to some but we thought it was a great opportunity to have a lovely weekend without distractions from phones!

Richard was a very responsive and helpful host, with a lovely place close to plenty of brilliant sites around the area. A good kitchen and a very comfy bed as well. Would stay again.

it was an absolute delight to stay at the Retreat for a weekend away. The space was very cosy and provided everything we needed and more! We especially loved the feather duvet- so cosy! Kay and Terry really go above and beyond at providing a welcoming and comfortable environment with lots of useful information about the local area. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
