Train vacation rentals in Plainview

This is the second time that we have stayed with Donnie. The first time was in one of the cabooses. This time we stayed in The Depot. Both of these places were as described and pictured! I had good enough phone service that we did not miss having WiFi and there was cable for television. I had two children with me, an eight year old and a twelve year old, and they were both fine there! And we could look out the front door and see Buffalo Mountain. Because of Hurricane Helene damage, we did not get to go there but it was not for lack of trying! Sunday morning before we left, I got to see a deer in the pasture behind the depot! And some beautiful sunrises!

Beautiful location, place as described. Jacuzzi was great. Lots of hot water. Good water pressure, good shower. Bed was comfortable. Donnie was helpful and responsive.

We wanted to do something unique & different for our anniversary & this did NOT disappoint. From the “main” road you can see the 3 red cabooses up on the hill & our hearts smiled. They recently had storms & we could see where the flood waters deteriorated the sides of the driveway but it was still wide enough for us to pass another small vehicle if needed. Office Check in was a breeze and took less than five mins before we were standing in our getaway train(caboose) which is on a real track! We were the only ones staying this weekend but if others were present, there was plenty of room. Our furbabies throughly enjoyed having a large field in front of the cabooses to run in. The views from the swings were breathtaking especially during the sunsets. Once Inside, we enjoyed the comforts of home (except for a stove). The hotness of the water & the relaxing hot tub added to our experience. Some things were dated but that is to come with the territory. We hope to visit again in the fall.

Clean! Smelled great too. Geat distance (within 10min) to hiking (Ash Cave) in one direction and then a pizzeria with all kinds of drinks and snacks in the other. On a fairly traveled road in front, but also a great small space to explore right behind and firepit. Well kept! It was great for our young family. Very fun.

Cheryl's place was fantastic! The caboose was so cute and cozy. Beautiful surroundings and so peaceful. We enjoyed all the animals. The bison feeding was fun to watch, Cheryl's parents provided a lot of interesting facts about the bison. Looking forward to going back and taking the grandkids!

Beautiful place on the water and off the beaten path. Very quiet and relaxing. Jan was very friendly and helpful.

This was our fourth stay at Apple Ridge! The cabooses are perfect to stay in and the location is so peaceful & relaxing. We go to get away from the hustle & bustle of life. We enjoy walks around the property and read books. When ready we head into Floyd for drinks (wine, beer & spirits) and food. Excellent hiking trails throughout the area. Definitely a place to visit!

We really enjoyed staying at Deb’s place. The caboose was super cute. The outside was the best part of the stay. It was peaceful, quiet and everything to keep you relaxed.

The caboose is located less than 10 minutes from downtown, and several restaurants. It was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We really enjoyed the hot tub , the area is very private and secluded.

The box car stay was amazing! The relaxing atmosphere and quiet country side was very enjoyable. We had to use the pull out couch and had to crawl over it to get to the bathroom but the quiet, cleanliness was worth that inconvenience. Loved the back deck and can't wait to go back and enjoy a sunset with a glass of wine! Thanks Amy!!

Had a great weekend! Wish the weather were better, but it was a great place to stay. I’m still baffled as to how they made such a small place feel so big! Highly recommend.

The host was so responsive to questions and helping us add to our stay. We had all instructions and local recommendations before we even arrived to help plan our trip. The caboose was immaculate and had everything we needed and wanted. Private hot tubs allow you to peacefully enjoy the sunset and stars. As a first air bnb experience, this will be hard to top.

we had the pleasure of staying at the depot cottage! the host brittany was very kind and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. communication was great and she was always quick to respond to any questions we had, making us feel welcomed. the space itself was a cozy and private getaway, providing the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. it was very clean, which added to the overall comfort of my stay. i couldn't have asked for a better experience, and i highly recommend this airbnb to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with a wonderful view and an amazing hot tub. thank you to brittany for making our trip so memorable!

We had a great stay at the Caboose! We loved the location and outdoor space. It was a convenient drive into Asheville. Would definitely stay here again.

I love staying at unique venues and Ken's caboose was one of them! The caboose interior design was beautiful along with the attached master bedroom and bath. The top deck was fabulous! This is a must on your travel list. Great conversation piece..."well...I've stayed in a 1927 historic caboose X61 traincar! Have you?" Highly recommended!

Beautiful surroundings, quiet except for the sounds of nature. Truly an epic destination. Would definitely return but with MORE friends! This trip was just the two of us.

My son requested staying in a train over spring break. So when I found this air bnb it seemed like the perfect fit and it absolutely was!! It is clean organized and has great features! I now want to fully recreate the bathroom as my bathroom at home!! We will absolutely be back!

The owner was very responsive. The Caboose had everything we needed for a quick stay (including ice cubes that were already made, and a Brita that was already filled!). It was really clean and looked exactly like the pictures. I have never stayed in an Airbnb that felt so ready for guests. The whole experience was great and I would definitely stay again!

AWESOME PLACE TO GO AND TRAVEL TO. the town has lots of sight seeing and stores to go to. the Train was AMAZINGGGG a true dream come true for my childhood bucketlist!!!
