Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Pickering

We had a great two night stay at this lovely cosy cottage. It’s set in beautiful surroundings and with Lucy’s instructions was very easy to find. The cottage was clean and warm with a welcome gift of Cake, milk, bread and butter. The basics are provided in the kitchen, you’re probably not going to cook a full three course dinner in there but it’s perfectly serviceable for making simple meals. It is in a great location with easy access to lots of worthwhile places to visit. Most importantly to us it was within a 30 minute drive to Newby Hall and Gardens for Tractor Fest 2025.

lovely setting, period house is what it is. The children loved the little bits of history like the writing block that they had learned bout in school. Easy to find, quality bedding very comfortable. We were staying for a wedding so didn't spend a lot of weekend there. Garden was great to sit out in. Welcome pack was a lovely treat, 😋 The homemade cake sustained us all whilst making up all the wedding flowers at Danby church nothing too much trouble for Trish, I asked for full length mirror and there was one provided. We had a lovely short break. The cottage is located perfectly for visits to the coast and local towns and villages. The courtyard garden was secure for the dog and lovely to sit in the sunshine. The cottage had everything we needed and Adrian was really helpful. Thank you for having us.

Cottage is very convenient for Pickering town centre, local supermarkets and takeaway food, all within easy walking distance. House itself is well kitted out in the kitchen if you want to cook, and all rooms neat, tidy and clean. Arriving on one of the hottest days of the year, the cottage was very cool. Tower fans have also been provided in the bedrooms. Not least, Sarah was very communicative and answered any questions we had (only one or two on arrival) very quickly.

What a find! So central but private and very homely. We had a fantastic week either exploring the area or relaxing at home in front of the fire. Loved the house and the position which was so handy for the shops and restaurants … we will definitely be back. Carole is so kind and helpful :)

Visited last weekend. We were welcomed upon arrival and were greeted by both John and Tricia. Parking was safe and secure. Lodge set in a beautiful peaceful location, John gave us a thorough tour and explained in depth about all facilities. The lodge contained everything you could possibly need including a lovely welcome pack and a bottle of Chilled Cava. Hosts were knowledgeable about the area and a pleasure to meet, the visit felt friendly from the start. There are lots of places to visit nearby and it is central to most tourist attractions. John and Tricia couldn’t do enough even offering to come and collect us if we got stranded anywhere on our walk. Visit made even better by the resident miniature horses, dogs and chicken who joined us outside for a glass of cava. Thanks for a really enjoyable stay. It's obvious by the little details that John and Tricia have put everything into getting things just right for their guests. Highly recommended, see you again. Many thanks Ted and Lynn

A lovely, deceptively spacious cottage just a few minutes drive from a host of excellent restaurants and some lovely towns and villages. Inside is stylish and squeaky clean, outside is perfect for breakfast in the morning sun (we were lucky enough to experience a Yorkshire heatwave when we stayed!) and evening sundowners. Helen is a super host, proactive with information and responsive when contacted. So nice to be welcomed with a tray of fizz, biscuits and crisps - and milk in the fridge. Shows the very best of what Airbnb can be.

We had a wonderful stay and the house is very cosy. Lucy messaged several times to make sure we wanted for nothing. Of all the weekend getaways we’ve had, this was our favourite. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely weekend stay in this beautiful part of the country. Jackie could not have been friendlier or more helpful and provided us with delicious treats on arrival. The annexe is very comfortable, spotless, and we enjoyed sitting in the private courtyard as the weather was great. The village is so pretty and both evenings we had delicious meals at the pub (literally opposite). Perfect location to visit Helmsley, Thornton le Dale, Castle Howard. Could not recommend more.

The flat was exactly as described, and in an ideal location. The environment was quiet, and only a very short walk to the sea front. Check in was easy and parking was not a problem at all, as the flat is situated at the end of the disk zone, so there is plenty of free parking available. Hila also provided a parking disk so that short term parking in disk zone areas around the town was not a problem. The kitchen was very well equipped and the living area was spacious. The bedrooms were also a good size and the beds were comfortable. I would definitely stay here again, and would have no hesitation in recommending.

A few words would not do justice to the accomodation or the surrounding area. The apartment was great and had everything you needed We had a fantastic time visiting Whitby Scarborough,Robins Hood Bay, Gouthland Fantastic holiday, we will be back.

This apartment is fantastic. Spacious & comfortable. A short walk to Scarborough front. The private garden with a place to eat breakfast or sip a glass of wine is absolutely perfect. Telma and her partner were warm and welcoming hosts. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful appartment, ideal for 2 couples or a family of 4. Great location for walking to the North Bay via Peasholme Park and to the Open Air Theatre. Rebecca was a great host.

We stayed for 5 nights in Simon's flat which was perfect! Helmsley is very pretty place with lots to do round and about so the location of the flat is ideal. It was easy to park and the flat very clean. The sitting room is a really good size, very comfortable and homely. Some rented properties (mainly managed by agents) are rather sterile and this was completely the opposite, somewhere you could settle into straight away and which had lots of character. The kitchen was well equiped and the bedroom very comfortable. We would highly recommend!

Keith was helpful right from the initially booking. He went out of his way to help us with information and allowed us to check in early which really helped with the parking. Communication was brilliant and replies were always swift. We had a great time staying there and will definitely be coming back next time we book a concert at the SOAT. Thanks again Keith.

Beautiful apartment with amazing views of the sea. Walkable to the promenade and sea front. Great places to eat on Milton Street (just as you come out of the car park) Very comfortable bed. Perfect for our short break in Saltburn

What a fabulous place to stay. Near the centre and near to the race course Pristinely clean. Beautiful decor. It’s just simply gorgeous. The communication beforehand was so good too. Will definitely book here again.

Perfection!! Clive's place is a wonderful place to stay. Clive and Julie are great hosts, friendly, helpful, accommodating and very welcoming. The welcome 'goodies' were very appreciated and tasty. The unit is very tastefully decorated and well appointed, the bed is super comfy and the shower is large with good water pressure. The outdoor area is a real delight, we sat and watched the ducks, the other birds (saw kingfishers!) and the squirrels. We had everything we needed for a happy, memorable stay. There are lots of walks in the area, plus a number of interesting things to see and do. It's an easy train ride to York, Harrogate and Leeds and the station is a short walk from the unit. There are a lot of pubs and cafes within easy walk - The Half Moon pub does delicious pizza! Overall, we very highly recommend Clive's unit and would return often if we could.

We had a fantastic 4 day visit to the beautiful city of York based on Jenny's well located listing. Very rare spot at the center of it all, with large, excellent, Marks and Spencer grocers right out the front door. All the excitement of adjacent narrow passage ways through the Shambles. One of the best parts of being so close was the easy ability to wander through in the morning hours, before the other many tourists visiting York begin to crowd in. Comfortable flat, super-friendly and communicative host.

We enjoyed our stay in the studio room. It was a perfect location to explore York. The room was very clean, as was the en suite bathroom. The bed - which folds up - was comfortable. The complimentary tea and coffee was very nice. Thank you for a lovely stay!

We loved our stay … the apartment was comfortable, light & airy with a pretty view out to the garden and the walls of York. Very easy walking distance to everything you would want to see & do in York. Great local restaurants. Could not recommend this apartment enough!!
