Hey! We're Garrett and Alla Hohn and we're excited to host you at the Hohnstead, our self-built piece of Montana haven. All 5 of our cabins are self built, unique and off-the-grid, helping you to reconnect to Nature and to each other. We love working out, traveling abroad, brewing (beer for Garrett, Kombucha for Alla), gardening, and anything that supports an eco-friendly, simple living lifestyle. …We had an unforgettable experience at The Hohnstead for my daughter’s 14th birthday! The scavenger hunt was an incredible two-hour adventure that took us through breathtaking forests and mountains. Each of the six active stations was a blast—splitting wood, panning for gold, using a slingshot, solving riddles, and even trying our hand at archery. The challenges were engaging and fun for everyone, and we loved identifying the local trees and wildlife along the way.

Covering about three miles of diverse terrain, it was the perfect blend of physical activity and nature immersion. The entire experience was a workout for the body and a treat for the soul, allowing us to truly connect with the environment. The concept of forest therapy really came alive; we felt refreshed and invigorated by the end.

The Hohnstead’s staff was friendly and knowledgeable, making sure the adventure was safe and exciting for the kids. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a unique, outdoor,…

…This place was absolutely gorgeous. The hot tub was surrounded by beautiful trees and wildlife and great views of the mountains. Cabin was very private and had incredible views and a great vibe. The hosts were extremely friendly, fun, and helpful. Definitely want to go back and bring friends to rent out the other cabins at this property. Was an incredibly relaxing and peaceful vacation to get away from work.…

…We had a lovely stay in the A-frame cabin! The property feels like a secluded getaway in the woods but it's only a 20 minute drive to Missoula. We went to a show at the Kettlehouse Amphitheater and we couldn't have picked a better location! Garrett and Alla were very welcoming hosts who love sharing their property with visitors. As a bonus Alla makes delicious kombucha that she shares with guests! I highly recommend staying at one of their cabins if you're looking for a peaceful getaway!…
