Family-friendly vacation rentals in Nova Scotia

A wonderful family vacation spent at Chad and Nicki’s place! Both very friendly and commutated well. Very responsive and would bring something we needed within 15 mins of asking! Comfortable beds, good wifi, beautiful quiet property and just a short bike ride to the water which is great at low tide. Will definitely be back!!

Even though the weather was cold and rainy we still had a wonderful visit! The lovely wood fire kept us nice and toasty! We had the most amazing view of the ocean from the living and dining rooms. There's a huge deck with lots of deck furniture that was available to us had the weather been nicer. Melanie has thought of absolutely everything one would need for a perfect getaway. It is one of the nicest places I've ever stayed. I cannot wait to go back! Also, I now am in love with the South Shore of NS!

We had a wonderful stay! James is an excellent host - easy to communicate with and very helpful with anything we needed during our stay. His home is beautiful, spacious, clean, and comfortable. Just a short walk from the beach! Would definitely recommend.

Incredible stay! There is so much to do, I would recommend staying 2 nights at least! We enjoyed the jacuzzi very much!! Bed was super comfy! 2 portable fans were definitely appreciated! The lake is beautiful, I even went for a dip. There’s a fire pit, full kitchen, candles, matches, toiletries, games, everything you’d possibly need! Bring bug spray because the files were bad!! That was the only thing I forgot but Bridgewater is literally only a 7 minute drive! Next I’m I am going to make sure I book atleast 2 nights. Thank you so much for a phenomenal anniversary!!

We had such a wonderful stay. The property is so beautifully landscaped by Bruce and Leesa. You can see the love and care they put into it. The inside was no exception. It felt warm and inviting. Leesa and Bruce are wonderful people. Very friendly and put us at ease right away. Really really nice couple. Don't think twice about booking this place. You will not be disappointed. We will be coming back and will book Leesa and Bruce's place without a question. Thanks for making us feel so welcomed.

Lovely and well-appointed cottage. The perfect location to stay on along the Cabot Trail! We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen, and the hot tub was such a treat. Hosts were very helpful. If you’re like us and come during the off-season before the restaurants are open, it was great having the convenience store within walking distance. Only thing to note if you’re a light sleeper that the cottage is very close to the road, so traffic does rattle you a bit. But that’s minor! Thanks for hosting us.

This place was absolutely beautiful. We were fortunate the rain stayed away until late in the evening so we enjoyed the beautiful sunny day. Hit the town for a relaxing walk before retreating to the chalet for a nice bbq and drinks on the patio as we watched all the boats passing by on the water. The inside was immaculate and the hot tub was an amazing way to end the night. Our host was quick to respond to questions and we couldn’t have asked for anything better. Was a great way to spend a 1 year anniversary 😊

The pictures do not do this justice. I would stay here again and again. It is extremely evident that heart and soul and thought was put in to all the details. It was incredible to play cards outside until 1 am and have access to the Sauna before bed. We only had a quick overnight stay but would recommend this to anyone in the area. 10 out of 10 hospitality and we hope we are able to recommend to any of our friends and family doing the cabot trail. Gerry is an excellent host. He is caring and full of attentions. His tips are super useful. He cares about your wellbeing. He sure does the extra mile to make your stay unforgettable. He has done a lot for me. I definitely recommend.

The house is ideal for a family visiting Charlottetown. Close to downtown and Victoria Park. It has a very comfortable living room, kitchen, downstairs space and deck and back yard. Thank you Terrie for going out of your way to make our stay extra special.

Our group was extremely happy to find this gem for accommodations for the Wharf Rat Rally! We had 3 1/2 couples in our group and there was plenty of room for all of us and our gear. It is located realtively close to Digby and the ride to and from was absolutely wonderful! We were happy to find plenty of rooms, a fully stocked kitchen, 2 spacious bathrooms and a diningroom large enough to fit us all. The property and views were beautiful as well. It was a great place to relax after a long day of riding. Last but not least, our hosts were amazing! They made sure our stay was the best! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Unfortunately, due to health circumstances, we were unable to stay at Shelly’s place. However, communication with Shelly was excellent, she is very compassionate and understanding, and I look forward to staying at her place in the future.

This is our third stay at Roberta’s cottage, and we have already booked the next 2, that’s how much we love this place! Thank you for sharing your lovely cottage with our family, we feel right at home every time. 🙂

We loved our stay at Maggie’s place! From the eclectic design to the fully-stocked kitchen (thank you for the ground coffee, fresh eggs, beauty bath supplies and condiments), over looking a beautiful perennial garden . We would definitely stay here again. The location is perfect for a home base, from which to explore NB, NS and PEI. See you again, Maggie!

Bryan arrived and greeted us soon after we got there. He had great suggestions and directions for sites and essentials. Place was comfortable and convenient to all we wanted to do. The bed was very comfortable with its’ memory foam mattress topper. The view of the ocean was stunning.

Valerie’s place was exactly as pictured. Beds were so comfy we checked to see what mattress she had lol! Lots of space for the 9 of us with 2 dogs and the kitchen had everything you could ever need. A few us were trying to find available times in the summer to come back! Pool wasn’t open yet but we did to enjoy the hottub. That sunroom…all I wanted was a big comfy chair in there and never have to leave. Great house for a fun family weekend!

As advertised. Close enough to Charlottetown and out in the country near water. My grandson enjoyed the pool. Nice and quiet even on the weekends. Aundrea was a wonderful host

PAM & J.P were extraordinary. We were delighted with our stay and fell in love with Nova Scotia. The animals were an unexpected extra. Gustave is going to miss Maple a lot. Small comment WHICH IS NOT A CRITICISM. The refrigerator is not very big, so don't do too much grocery shopping at once. We arrived with too many things and not everything fit. But again, that's okay. There's a grocery store not far away. It's very easy. Just don't plan too far ahead if you have a big family like mine. The pool is amazing!!!!! Close to lots of beautiful beaches. We had a great time with the family!!!

Fantastic hosts. Dream heritage property with total privacy and a heated pool in a park like setting; we booked that property pretty much every year for the last seven years. Rob and Barb are constantly improving the property, there is always something new to discover, whether it's a new appliance, or a brand new landscaped river frontage inviting you to sit and watch river and ocean life whilst sipping a glass of tasty red provided with the welcome basket. We enjoyed eating out at the Lunenburg restaurants, as much as we enjoyed cooking a delicious meal at their place, which is fully equipped, one can easily cook up a gourmet meal. Golden! This is our third time at Moniques and it is more wonderful each time. Monique is a professional host and the house is spectacular. What a wonderful part of NB especially for us, as our kids are in French immersion. Beach right down from the house is beautiful and everything you need can be bought locally. We drove into Shediac for a couple patio meals and pier jumping. So sad to head home but we will be back to NB!

Our second time at this great location. Close to Annapolis Royal that includes the terrific Farmer's Market on Saturdays and shopping in the quaint downtown area. Grandkids LOVE the hot tub. The cottage was perfect for us to get away for a vacation! We really enjoyed the pool and Paul was very helpful. We picked up some lobsters at the local market and he had an outdoor propane cooker that was perfect and quick! The grounds are awesome, our dogs enjoyed walks on the trail around the cabins and there is a huge lawn/green space in the middle for them to enjoy as well. The cottage is 20 min fron Cavendish and 20 min from Charlottetown, 2 min from the Dunes and a couple great little grocers. Shout out to Brackley Bay Oyster Co. (basically next door) where we got amazing prices on oysters, lobster and mussels.
