Secluded Mountain House w/ National Forest Access

Scott and Lucy’s house is amazing. The details are well thought out and you can tell they have put a lot of love into the place. All the beds are comfy and each mattress is a bit different. Scott was so friendly and had great communication through our stay. He was flexible with check in and check out times. I was celebrating my birthday there with friends and he made sure I had a great stay. He even had a bottle of wine and champagne waiting for me which we enjoyed on the deck. Having an upper and lower deck was great as it gets hot but one deck was always shaded by the trees. The hot tub was wonderful after a day of hiking and on the private side of the property. There is one neighboring house that is pretty close on one side of the house but on the side with the hot tub and upper deck you feel like you are completely alone in the wilderness. There are trails you can hike from the property just walk straight a few minutes through the gate and you hit a fire road. Hope to stay again.

Rancho Santa Rosa Casita/Art Gallery, Spa & Sauna

Adorable tiny cabin with stunning views and trailheads galore. The efficiency kitchen is charming—geraniums outside the window—and breakfast was a treat: yogurt, fresh fruit, baked goods, coffee, oat milk, and OJ. Bed was comfy with fluffy pillows, and the shower had great water pressure. Filtered spring water provided, though tap water is good too. Thoughtful touches everywhere, like phone charging plugs. Loved watching birds and bunnies at the morning feeding spot. There’s a small, lovely art gallery on-site and optional extras like snacks, wine, cappuccino, and protein shakes (the shake I had was delicious). Idyllwild is a scenic 30-min drive with great food and fun vibes—yes, the mayor is a golden retriever. Host was kind and communicative. Tip: gas up before heading up the mountain. Nearby: Paradise Valley Café and a casino in Anza. Wish I’d could’ve stayed longer—highly recommend!

This is a great peaceful Cabin. We really liked the fenced in area the dog could go to.

Tiny Mountain Cabin under the pines. Dogs ok.

Stayed in Idylwild for 2 days, decided to stay at Mark's place (Cabin C). The cabin was clean and as described. We were out most of the day and simply needed to a place to sleep and still have the ability to cook something small if needed, Mark's place had all we needed. The Cabin is perfect for a minimalist. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay while exploring the area. Definitely would book Mark's place again.
