Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Middlesex County

This was a lovely little spot to stay for a couple days ! Carlisle was very helpful and quick to respond even with booking so late ! we had an amazing peaceful time and will definitely be back.

Heather’s stunning riverfront home was the perfect escape for our winter vacation. The house itself was beautifully appointed with comfortable beds, antique decor, and a well-equipped kitchen. The real star of the show is the location. Waking up to the sound of the wind along the river was incredibly calm and peaceful. My husband and I worked from the dining table facing the serene views. The internet was fast and reliable so we both were able to work from the house. We highly recommend this home to anyone seeking a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway.

Space was great for our family and larger than depicted in photos. Access to the beach was easy and stunning.

Perfect location to unplug and unwind. Stylish modern cabin with great amenities. We recommend to kayak, get coffee at the local, lunch at the office (across the street from the coffee shop), sandpiper and merrior tasting room (key lime pie was absolutely heaven) for dinner. Definitely go to the market and get a dozen of fresh local Rappahannock oysters and shuck them to really enjoy the taste of the little oyster island.

Sadia’s home on the river is a beautiful home in a very private and serene location. The house has been beautifully renovated for today’s comforts but it oozes with historical charm. The bedrooms worked out well for our needs for 5 adults. The house had a large kitchen for gathering, a cozy den for board games, a screened in back porch, and a lovely dock to sit by the water. We also enjoyed the fire pit while taking in the amazing stars. It really is such a special location. Kilmarnock is not too far away and offers shops snd restaurants but be aware that most businesses are closed on Sunday so do your town exploring on Saturday. We did run into a major plumbing issue upon our arrival. Sadia was extremely responsive and had a contractor at the house within an hour. Unfortunately the issue was not easily resolvable during our stay so we had limited water usage. Sadia was very easy to work with and we received a credit for our stay. It is truly a lovely home with a wonderful host.

This house is a true gem. It offers the perfect mix of serenity, natural beauty, and modern comforts. Whether you want to relax and unwind or enjoy outdoor adventures, this place has it all. The host was also communicative and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed to have a great stay.

Maria's place was such a welcome sanctuary. It was a beautiful, serene location and had all the right touches and surprises that make a stay one to remember. Everything we thought we could use or need we found. One examples, while making dinner, "would be nice to have music, oh here's a bluetooth speaker!". Well supplied kitchen, bath robes. dog treats, and the cruiser bikes had air in the tires, even in the winter! Maria was also very responsive and accompdating when we had a bit of a scheduling snafu. Can't recommend enough and look forward to a return visit.

We booked Gita’s charming cottage in Irvington for three nights in January as an escape from the city. The neighborhood has a collection of these carpenter gothic homes nicely set back from the main road. The home is as lovely as the pictures. Gita keeps the cottage sparkling clean, well stocked and filled with thoughtful touches throughout. Lots of places to sit comfortably with the addition of an outdoor screened porch near one of the two bottom bedrooms. The kitchen had new appliances and was stocked with all you need to cook any meal. We loved the use of indirect lighting along with string lights outside which gave the cottage a cozy, warm glow. It would be a great place to stay when the pool is open, but also lovely and quiet during the colder months.
