Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Mariaville

We stayed at Gust House over the winter holidays. It's right on the bay, and the area is beautiful in the snow. The house is roomy, comfortable, and great for families. It has a large living room and well-equipped kitchen downstairs and three bedrooms upstairs, with space heaters provided to stay warm on cold winter nights. Our teen kids were happy to have their own rooms. The front entry has several steps that can be slippery in the winter, and the staircase to the second floor is steep, so this wouldn't be an ideal place for anyone with mobility issues.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about this lovely property. Lee and Charlie were so fantastic to work with, and the home was spacious, fully stocked and beautifully decorated. We would definitely come back and highly recommend it! Communication was terrific!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Samantha's place in Cushing. To say that she is "very responsive" would be an understatement. She typically responded within 10 minutes no matter what my question was. She lives a short distance away which really helped facilitate things. We had a minor issue with the Internet which required communication with the service provider, but she coordinated everything and resolved it right away. The house is totally charming - old, a bit creaky and adorable - and well maintained (no issues there). We imagined how great it would be to visit in wintertime and snuggle up to a roaring fire. They have an expansive yard with gardens great for a short evening stroll. Forest habitat behind the property was great for bird watching. The area is absolutely beautiful - quintissential coastal Maine. The Olson House (local attraction) is a few minutes drive from the house. The grounds have a walking trail along the water with fantastic views of the coast.

We came to Bar Harbor for the MDI Marathon, and this ended up the perfect location, just two blocks from the start line. Price-wise it was comparable to any hotels for the four of us and the full kitchen helped us save some time and money by prepping most of our own meals. Having laundry was a huge plus for a longer stay and being able to pack less. Everything was well-maintained and Sara gave us great info and local recommendations before our stay. Would definitely recommend!

This was the perfect rental for our family of 4 for the thanksgiving holiday. The home had everything we needed and wanted, great location within walking distance of so many great places in Rockland, and was clean and comfortable. Alicia went out of her way to provide recommendations for our stay! This is probably the best Airbnb we’ve stayed at and the most helpful host we’ve encountered. Highly recommend and thank you to Alicia and family for making our week so enjoyable while spending time with our kids on their college break.

Our family (2 adults, 3 kids) stayed here for a week at Christmas and it was a lovely place. It was not only very comfortable and had everything we needed, but was also extremely well kept and clean. It is a convenient location that is easily walkable to the grocery store (even in a snow storm!) and everything else in Bar Harbor, too. If you have kids, it is also just down the street from a nice local playground. Would be a great location for a family or group at any time of the year.

The house on Westwood was nothing short of perfect. It was clean, convenient, and we had a wonderful time.

"From my daughter: This is our 3rd trip to Acadia National Park, but the first time at this Air B&b. Originally it was supposed to be for 5 of us, but 3 couldn't make it, so it ended up just being my husband and I. The Air B&b is in a remote enough area that it is nice and peaceful, but still an easy 20-30 minute drive to almost anywhere on Mt. desert island. The house has so many thoughtful touches, like an area outside for a campfire, supplies for smores, basic seasoning and condiments, all the light switches labeled (so thankful for that!), etc. We did a grocery run our first day and came back to the house for almost all our meals. This was a cozy place and we'd recommend to anyone visiting Mt. Desert Island and would return here again if we come back in the future."

Our stay was fantastic. The place was clean and laid out nicely. It was also close enough and an easy drive to Acadia National Park. Highly recommend, and I would definitely come back and stay here again!

This cozy 2nd floor apartment was in a great location. Was walkable right to downtown with many shops and restaurants available. It was so quiet I couldn’t believe it. The only noises we heard were car doors shutting. Very peaceful location. The kitchen had all the amenities we needed. We enjoyed playing some board games. We found the futon in the living room very uncomfortable to sit on. It rained most of our stay so we were inside more than we had hoped. We also found the bed to be very very soft and dipped in the middle. A very nice stay otherwise and the location cannot be beat.

Absolutely beautiful area. Cute place with a lovely back yard. Nicole was very responsive and very helpful we loved our weekend away and I got to meet their pup! Would definitely stay again and may in the near future. It was everything you could ever need and more!

We had a wonderful family staycation! We enjoyed the ability to unplug, without the distraction of a tv in the space we played lots of games. The location is great with quaint shops and various restaurants all within walking distance. Diane was an excellent host! I would definitely stay here again.

Great stay at Audray's place. We spend a lot of time in the area and this location is a great alternative to area hotels - especially off season. The room is spacious, comfortable, and clean. The location is ideal to hit local attractions including Boothbay Harbor, the Maine Botanical Gardens, etc. Very pretty view of the Sheepscot River.

Absolutely amazing, the place was beautiful and exactly as described. Looking out the windows we got a really nice view of the river and the city all at once.

Staying here to go into Acadia NP was the best decision of our whole trip. The place was clean and well cared for, and Renee and partner were super friendly. Renee had a ton of little things in the apartment that made the trip/stay so much better. She clearly thought this through very well. My family and I had a fantastic experience and will definitely stay here again if in the area.

Thoroughly enjoyed my two-week stay. Great location with quick and easy access to Belfast, Lincolnville, Camden and Rockport. On a private road for a very quiet, peaceful stay. Clean, comfortable and very well provisioned. I was even able to bake cookies for my daughter and son-in-law!

Love this Condo. Superb location in Blue Hill Village, easily walkable to everything downtown. Modern and updated making it very comfortable. Well equipped with cleaning/cooking supplies so you can "live normally". The hosts are super responsive and helpful as well. Highly recommended.

We were very happy start to finish. The location was just so unique and incredible. Right on a working marina, but very quiet. Plenty to see and do nearby. Walk across the pier and buy live lobsters. Christie was extremely helpful and quick to respond when asked. Condo was very well done with plenty of touches to make it homey. A good value! If we come back to Maine, we’ll call her first.

Such a great stay! Convenient location, comfy condo on a beautiful property. Our pup also loved it.
