Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Lake Tekapo

This house is just a 27-minute drive outside of Tekapo. We were initially looking into staying at Tekapo but didn’t manage to find “the one” so we explored the towns just outside and found this beautiful place. This house is in the perfect location! This house was well thought of all the floor to ceiling windows just makes you enjoy the view. It snowed on the first night and it felt like we were inside a snow globe - magical! Beds were comfortable, bathrooms had all we needed and the kitchen is well equipped. Definitely worth the drive and worth every penny. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back! ❤️

We had a wonderful stay at Jan’s place. We loved all of the details and the interesting art, books and furniture. It felt really homely and there were lots of helpful and thoughtful touches. The beds were all really comfortable with lovely fresh linen. Jan was an incredible host who really made sure that our stay was enjoyable. She was accommodating with a few last minute changes and always responded to messages promptly. We will definitely be booking a stay at Jans the next time we are in Otematata.

Alex's house is on a hillside by Lake Tekapo. The scenery is great, and we can see the lake view of Tekapo. The house is similar to a wooden house, and the decoration is very unique. We like it very much. On the night we came, Tekapo was very cold. Alex turned on the heating for us early, and we felt very warm as soon as we entered the door. ☺️ Alex is also a responsible and careful landlord. He replies quickly and communicates pleasantly. We had a warm night in winter.

Absolutely wonderful stay! A unique and wonderful house in beautiful surroundings. Sam and Jen were incredibly helpful with some questions before our arrival. Loved every minute of our stay in this lovely home!

One of out favourite stay in new zealand. Love the surroundings & view. You can even find some rabbits around. House was warm & clean with all the necessary amenities provided. Highly recommended!

We had an amazing stay at The Black House in Fairlie! The location is breathtaking, offering stunning views of the mountains that made every moment special. The home felt private and peaceful, creating the perfect environment to relax and unwind. When we arrived, everything was spotless and comfortable, better than we had expected! We truly felt at home and would love to return! :)

Nice spot close to town but quiet and secluded. If you are going to stay there the google maps will take you up the wrong driveway, it will be right after the speed bump heading north. She had it marked well, google is just off a few driveways.

Beautiful location and lovely view. Loved the way this place has been designed, it’s very thoughtful and feels very homely. Only drawback is the construction of another place just next to it but otherwise a very memorable stay.

Gaye was friendly and responsive. We arrived early and he was flexible and allowed us to check in early. This was our last night before heading back to Christchurch. It was a restful stay.

We had an absolutely amazing stay! The place itself was spacious, beautifully set up, and had all the amenities we needed — and more. It felt like a home away from home. On our first night, we experienced a snowstorm, and we were so grateful that the heating worked perfectly. A special highlight for my kids was the log burner — it was their first time seeing one, and they loved the cozy experience! Having a garage was a huge bonus — we didn’t have to worry about digging out our rental car the next morning. And the view from the balcony of the lake was stunning, especially with everything covered in snow. What made it even more special was the large open space at the back where our kids had the best time playing in the snow. It was such a joy to watch. My family and I truly enjoyed our stay — everything was perfect! Would highly recommend and would love to come back someday.

Book Tekapo's listing is perfect for two or one person, the room size is just right, I especially like the kitchen, the utensils are very complete, and it is equipped with a dishwasher, it is really great not to wash the dishes after cooking, the surrounding environment is very beautiful, very convenient.

The place is amazing with a starview balcony. The rooms are clean and cozy and the host is extremely helpful and even left us a bottle of wine with a welcome note. Felt totally at home and welcomed. Recommended!

This home is in a beautiful and serene setting. It was about 1.5h from Christchurch airport and was the perfect antidote to the craziness of flying. At night, the only thing we could hear was the breeze and the gentle rain. I’d love to stay for a week. Annie was incredibly friendly and the welcome basket with homemade granola was tops. The basket also included potato chips made from the potatoes grown on the property! The kitchen was amazingly well stocked and my kid got to try Milo for the first time.

Very good accomodation for large member of families who travelling together. We travel as 3 families with total 12 pax. Actually it has more capacity than that. Overall our staycation was very good and their amenites are very well maintained as well.
