The space
We're located in a quiet neighborhood with accommodations for up to 12 guests with ample parking for multiple vehicles or kayak or horse trailers. There's a king bedroom and two other bedrooms, each with two queen beds as well as a queen futon in the living room. Each bedroom now has its own TV!
There's plenty of outdoor areas to enjoy during your stay, including a small back deck with benches that convert to a picnic table, a gas grill on a small patio, and gravel walking areas to the fire pit. Our favorite is the large covered front porch which has 13 chairs and two extending tables that can be arranged to your liking so everyone has a place to eat at dinner time. Guests can also enjoy the provided games such as horseshoes, glow bocce and yard dice.
Located about 15 minutes from Bennett Springs, Barclay conservation area, and the legendary Leadmine conservation area which offers 7,761 acres full of equestrian trails and a public shooting range. There's also several Amish vendors in the Lead Mine area which are worth the effort to visit.
Feeling adventurous without wanting the hassel of hauling your own gear to the river? Steele River Kayaks is offering door to door service when you mention Namastays during your float reservation. So let loose, relax and focus on making lifelong memories with your loved ones. .
Guest access
Guests can enjoy the front and backyard, as well as explore the wooded trail on the property. Outbuildings are locked and inaccessible to guests, and a designated closet in one queen bedroom is locked, labeled, and reserved for owners and cleaning supplies.
Note that the area is wooded and rocky with wildlife such as snakes (including potentially venomous ones), bears, deer, and possibly loose dogs.
Small hummingbird feeders are provided by the host; use only a homemade simple syrup of equal parts boiling water and sugar, avoiding red dye. Refresh feeders every three days in extreme heat and clean with hot water after each use. Please ensure feeders are cleaned before checkout to maintain their availability for future guests.
Other things to note
Please note that the area is wooded and rocky with wildlife such as snakes (including potentially venomous ones), bears, deer, and possibly loose dogs.
Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended items to pack for your stay. We prefer Cactus Juice bug spray for the gnats and mosquitoes.
There are small hummingbird feeders provided for your enjoyment, please do not use any pre-made red dyed syrup in the feeders. A simple syrup mixture made of equal parts boiling water added to equal parts sugar, and stirring until completely dissolved will be sufficient to feed the hummingbirds. Please refresh the feeders every three days in extreme heat, and simply rinse with hot water after each use to clean them. Please rinse/clean the feeders with hot water upon checkout, as it's not part of the cleaners agreement. Failure to do so may make these unavailable for future guests to enjoy the same experience.
Towels and other items in the home are inventoried regularly and should never leave the property. There are 10 bath towels in each bathroom, missing or damaged towels will be charged $10 per towel.
Pots and pans are expensive and time consuming to replace in this rural area. Please ensure to use the proper utensils for non stick pans. Scratched and damaged pans will be charged to the guest depending on the availability/cost of replacement.
