Our home is on the bay just across the river from Fort Kochi, nestled in a quiet residential area of colonial Cochin. With a quite beach, beautiful lanes and Chapels it is ideal for a calm and relaxed holiday. It is in the heritage zone of 'Our Lady of Hope Church' (built 1604 AD). It's our dream house which we built as our vacation home. A short 5 min ferry ride takes you into the heart of Fort Kochi with it's historic places and restaurants all within walking distance.
“We stayed in Tamara was absolutely lovely. I can’t pick out any cons for the place. It’s such a cute house with a lot of thoughtful touches. The best part is the beach and Chinese fishing nets are just 10 steps away from the house. So it’s amazing to catch the beautiful Arabian Sea sunset. Lynette was super helpful with any checkin related questions I had and Robin helped us out once we got to Vypin. The house itself is super clean and tidy, has any amenities you can think of, and is located in a nice and cozy neighbourhood. Would highly recommend the place, it’s worth every penny! ❤️”
A Family running home stay located in a quite village between Alleppey & Cochin. You can experience the beauty& the Tranquility of the Backwaters at its best just by sitting in front of our room's porch with a spectacular view!
“Manu’s place is such a unique location, literally on the waterway the views and sounds of birds and wildlife were amazing,. The living area and bathrooms was spotless, Manu was fantastic at communicating and helping to organise excursions, we would highly recommend the bird watching/bike tour with Manu’s friend Tubin, it was a lovely way to get around and see different places in the area including a fishing harbour and the traditional Chinese fishing nets, he provides binoculars and is very knowledgeable about local bird species. The sunrise cruise was also a great experience although it might be worth pointing out to the boatman that you’d like to be facing the sunrise whilst cruising, we spent most of the sunrise sailing facing away from the sunrise which defeated the purpose somewhat! We took an Uber to the local beach (15 min drive) for around £2.50 and a tuk tuk back for around the same price The food at the communal area was outstanding and the price was unbelievable, breakfast was around £1.50 each and dinner around £2 each, they are set meals and you are left feeling very satisfied! The house is adjacent to another accommodation housing lots of guests having treatment at the Ayurvedic clinic across the water, not really our cup of tea but you have your own private balcony if you don’t want to socialise communally My only criticism would be the bed...which was very firm with a fairly thin mattress and only one pillow each, but that is just personal preference and I prefer a slightly less firm bed to sleep on All in all a great trip, lovely area and fantastic host!...highly recommended! :-)”
