Vacation rentals in Jebel Shams

This is a large property in Saiq, Jebel Al Akhdar providing private accommodation in this very special village in the mountains. We were very well looked-after by Muntaser who showed us around the stunning landscape and local villages including Al Aqor, Wadi Bani Habib and Al Suwgra (now an exclusive boutique hotel clinging to the mountainside where your baggage has to be transported via zipwire across the valley). He kindly drove our car from place to place so that we could do as little or as much exploring on foot as we wished. His experience of driving on the insanely steep off-road tracks was invaluable - despite the Nissan Patrol being a very capable 4x4, I would have been too nervous to do this myself! The most special treat was being invited for قهوة (coffee) which was a great honour appreciated by the whole family. Thank you Saif!

we went to this beautiful place by Ishaq for a one night stay. we reached around 12.30pm after a 3 hours drive from Muscat. the caretakers were not really friendly initially, they were rude when we asked if we can use the washroom as there's no public amenities nearby. however i speak his language, so we didn't need much time to change his attitude. but i prefer a warm welcome to such a beautiful place than a rude behavior from the caretakers. the place is exactly how it looks on the pictures, so beautiful and elegant. it was so inspiring to see how the house is equipped with its unique furnishing and the architecture is amazing. we loved the idea of a Jacuzzi next to the bed, and an open bedroom etc. we spent most of our time near the campfire and enjoyed the weather (it was too cold in the night) overall a private luxury villa to have a good time with your friends or family.

Mohammed's house is neat and located perfectly just before the Balcony walk, the only reason I chose to stay there. The location is perfect and peaceful. Since we are vegetarian, we carried our own food, but there is an Omani family nextdoor who were offering home cooked meals. I plan to revisit next month with a friend visiting Muscat.

Highly recommended ! About 600 metres walk to the Souk and the house is very clean and beautiful.

Laith was very helpful. Our car had some problems while we were there, and he arranged for a mechanic to come to the house and help us. Good place, would stay there again.

A beautiful stay at Sukoon’s bnb which exceeded all our expectations! The check in process was very smooth and Ahmed made it easy to get settled in! 10/10 recommend for anyone planning to explore the beautiful Jebel Shams mountain range (the balcony walk starts at roughly 1hour drive from the bnb).

We loved our stay at the Pool Villa. What a luxurious treat after a couple of days in the mountains.

Great outdoor kitchen. Many nice walks nearby. House keeper always on hand and very helpful.

I’ve stayed in many airbnbs, all over the world and this one is by far my favorite. M has renovated one of the old mud brick houses & added an upstairs patio while incorporating a huge mango tree into the design. Feels like a treehouse. The vibe is extremely peaceful and it’s perfect for people who love nature & history. There is a coffee house inside the date palm grove behind the house that’s a five minute walk away & there are trails all throughout the palm grove. There’s also so much to see in the village including a few museums. I would recommend that you book for at least three nights & arrive with all the groceries you will need for your stay, because you won’t want to leave! I could easily spend a week here and the only issue was that I had a list of places I wanted to see in the surrounding area, but I barely got to any of it because I didn’t want to leave the Airbnb! It’s better than the pictures. The garden is bigger than it looks and is walled in.
