Island of Ortigia vacation rentals

We had a wonderful stay here. Breakfast on the balcony every morning overlooking the water, then a glass of wine while watching the sunset and people strolling by. It doesn’t get much better. The apartment was great, super comfortable, spacious and bright, with a full kitchen where we cooked meals on two nights with fresh fish and vegetables from the outdoor market 5 minutes away. There was a small shop two doors down where we got some supplies, including wine, and a few minute walk to a grocery store, coffee shop, restaurants, sights, etc. And Maria Teresa was a 5 star host, meeting us and explaining everything we needed to know. It really was a 5 star experience.

We spent six wonderful weeks living in Salvatore’s apartment overlooking the Fonte Aretusa (1 OCT-14 NOV). The location is amazing. We spent hours sitting on our balcony watching the maritime and pedestrian traffic go by. There is cable TV, but we never turned it on for 6 weeks. We live in NYC, so for us there was no unusual amount of noise, especially if you lower the shutters at night. The apartment is on the first floor (2nd floor American), but only 19 easy steps up. The kitchen was well equipped. We cooked about half our dinners there, and, for the rest, the apartment is within a 5-minute walk to over a dozen restaurants, including two great ones: Oz-eta and La Cuccagna al Duomo. Salvatore was a great help in recommending places to eat, shop and swim. Swift and excellent communications consistently. We would highly recommend this apartment.

We had an enjoyable stay in this roomy apartment. Communication with Emily was immediate, directions were clear and easy to follow, list of places to shop and eat was useful. Was given recommendation and contact for garage to park car, 20 euro per night.

We loved our stay at the Loft! Incredible studio in a wonderful part of Ortigia. Lucilla and Antonio were the perfect hosts. Full of passion for the local area and so generous with recommendations and a flexible check- in. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We loved having two swim spots close by, even in Oct/Nov the water was perfect for swimming! There are many street food, restaurants and shops close by too. It’s a wonderful spot to stay - we fell in love with Ortigia and its magic and can’t wait to return!

One of my favorite airbb’s ever - Super clean, perfect location, 3 beautiful terraces which we thoroughly enjoyed at the start of our day with coffee, and at the end of our day for sunset. Manuel’s father met us at check in and gave a thorough tour of all we needed to know about the apt. Manuel checked in with us to see how we were doing and provided activity and restaurant recommendations. After dining at many restaurants across the city the restaurant Oz just a few doors down from the apartment ended up being one of our favorites. Enjoyed this Airbnb very much and all that it had to offer

Luca’s apartment is beautifully restored and in a great location with the market and lots of restaurants nearby . His assistant Linda was so helpful as it was the G7 Agricultural Summit when we arrived and she organised parking for us then met us at the apartment. Highly recommend this apartment.

We really enjoyed the apartment - everything was as it looked in the pictures. The two terraces were incredible, very large and made our trip. We went in November and the lower terrace was in the shade but lovely for the day and the top balcony got the sun the whole time. WiFi was great and good enough for us both to work and do video calls. Location was very central, few minutes walk to the duomo and in the heart of everything but very quiet to sleep. Angelo was really helpful and very responsive. We highly recommend. Would love to come again one day ☺️

The location is great. A short walk to many of the attractions and beaches on Ortigia. It is a short cab ride from Siracusa train station. The space was clean, safe, quiet and beds were comfy. The roof deck provided nice views of the sea and made for a nice place to enjoy a glass of wine. Luigi even provided a battle of wine upon our check in. We were greeted by Domenica who was super friendly and showed us a map of local recommendations. We had trouble figuring out the taxi system and she was kind enough to help us out with getting one. If our travels bring us back to Siracusa I would highly recommend this Airbnb as an option.

Silvana and her son were great hosts! He met us at the taxi drop off and guided us right to the apartment and even carried our luggage upstairs for us! One evening when we were running late and we ran into him and he called a taxi for us and we were on our way within minutes, like a miracle. He just lives downstairs and was so helpful to show us all around the apartment. The kitchen is very well equipped. The terrace is fabulous! We loved having the washing machine! The television has two or three channels with English-speaking movies, a rarity. The location is great, a block from the water and just a few blocks from the center. There’s a nice grocery store nearby and also what they call a hot table, that has great ready-made food for take away. Of course, many wonderful restaurants. Close to the bridge that goes over to Siracusa, and if you get a chance to go on a bicycle tour with Lucca, you will love it! There is a great bike path along the Mediterranean. Marionette puppets, too!
