“It was a very pleasant experience and memorable! I used to stay in a hotel before, this is the first time I try this way. There were all kinds of worries before checking in, and the results surprised me! This house is in a quiet location, convenient parking, password access, the owner gives enough personal space, both a home and privacy. Especially the public areas are clean and welcoming. The kitchen has a lot of kitchenware and food. The delicious coffee makes me have a lot of aftertaste. Special thanks to the host mother, the kind old man who treated us like our own family! “The backyard was beautiful and just what we needed to relax after a long flight. The apartment was as described and comfortable. Jamel responded quickly to any questions or requests we had - extra credit for hospitality! I would say that if you are a light sleeper or trying to get to bed very early, it can be a little noisy from the neighbors upstairs and from a water pump which is outside the bedroom door and makes a bit of a clicking noise when anyone in the house uses water, but if you’re just planning to sleep during regular sleeping hours it shouldn’t be an issue. The neighborhood doesn’t seem to have too many amenities, but again, if you’re just looking for a relaxing place to stay for a short while, we were able to get food delivered. Overall, a great deal for the price, proximity to the airport, and especially with the beautiful backyard.”

“I very highly recommend Cathy-Ann's place. I stayed for a month during a school rotation at NBI. The apartment itself was perfect: lots of space, well stocked, and very clean and comfortable. Cathy-Ann was incredibly helpful and responsive, and she checked in periodically just to make sure everything was going well. The gated driveway is a huge plus too. A few people had mentioned concerns about safety, and just like anywhere you should be reasonably careful of your surroundings, but the area around the house is fine and I had no problems at all. The apartment is conveniently located but easiest with a car. It's easy to get to NYC, I recommend the NJ Transit train from Maplewood (3 miles from the apartment, easy/cheap/safe parking) to NY Penn Station. Trains take 40 minutes and run every hour, and roundtrip is $15. Overall, it was a great apartment with a great host, and I would happily stay again. Thanks Cathy-Ann!”
