Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Inner West Council

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Camperdown with our 10mo. The host was more than helpful in the lead up and even organised a cot and high chair for us. The place was small, but if you’re looking for a base to come home too after a day of exploring it’s perfect. Bed is comfy and the heating kept the place cozy. I loved the washer/dryer combo also as it meant we could keep up with the needs of the little one. The host left a manual which included instructions to all the appliances as well as local recommendations. She even graciously left us some baby books to use while we stayed. Overall great experience and for the same price if not less than a crummy hotel room, you get far more than you pay for in such a great, walkable area close to cafes, parks and shopping. Will stay again when we visit Sydney.

We booked Jenny's place back in January when we were planning our 5-week stay in Australia. We booked this Airbnb based on reviews, and the post on the website, but knew little to nothing about the location, and where it was in relation to the city. We more than lucked out as the apartment more than lived up to expectations, as did the location - close enough to the bustling King St, with bars and restaurants aplenty, close enough to local transport links to get you wherever we needed, but also really quietly placed near Hollis Park. As a host Jenny was brilliant from day one, communicating throughout and responsive to our needs, if we had an issue, not that we had many because she was so well organised from the start. We've done quite a few Airbnb's now and this ranks very close to the top of the tree, because it mixes great hosting with a great property and a great location. Thank you Jenny for a great thirteen days!

We had a lovely stay in Rozelle. The house was cozy and clean, very well- equipped and in a great location for shops, restaurants and walks. Freja was a lovely host. Overall, a wonderful house to stay in.

Loved our stay here! The house was welcoming, lots of natural light, well equipped and nice and clean. Great modern bathroom. The street is nice and quiet and it was always pretty easy to find a car park nearby if not right out the front. Only a few minutes walk to the main streets and close to Woolworths and some good cafes. Our kids loved the park right across the street. Roslyn was a great host, she gave clear instructions and was very responsive.

Delightful stay in Newtown :-) Only a block back from King St but no traffic noise or noisy pubs. Hard to believe I was staying the hub of Newtown. Easily caught buses, trains, and an uber from my accommodation to the city CBD and airport. All services were regular - did not have to wait longer than 5 mins for any transport. Easily walked to RPAH, directions to access the accommodation were very easy to understand. Felt like a home away from home, very cosy bedroom with all amenities, extremely clean, tidy, warm (stayed late May), good shower pressure, all needs catered for with fridge, toaster, kettle, table and chairs, a light and bright space. I really enjoyed my stay which was a chaotic visit for combined work and pleasure but felt relaxed as soon as I walked in the door. Also felt safe walking from the train station to the accommodation after 8pm. Lots of people around and well lit streets.

A lovely place to stay with numerous thoughtful touches to make you feel welcome. Gerard’s place is easy walking distance to cafes, restaurants and public transport. It’s everything you need for a Sydney stay.

House is great, location is really handy to the city. The back yard is a surprising oasis in the middle of the city.

Peter, Cheryl’s husband, personally welcomed us at check-in and gave a quick, informative tour; such a gentleman! The apartment and the neighborhood exceeded our expectations. Everything inside - from the furniture and appliances to the bedding, pillows, and towels - was of good quality. We truly felt at home. The building and location are ideal for families. One pleasant surprise was the indoor pool and gym, which weren’t shown in the listing photos. Our kids loved swimming on a chilly, foggy day - the water was clean and warm! Despite being so close to the CBD, the neighborhood was incredibly peaceful with very little noise. A perfect stay all around!

I had a fantastic stay at this place! It was clean, cozy, and exactly as described in the listing. The host was incredibly responsive and the apartment had all the amenities we needed. Highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting the area.

Outstanding - for many reasons. Location, convenience, amenities, value & host. Wilson's Newtown was our home away from home for 15 nights. We were very comfortable during our stay. Location-perfect. Provided easy walking access to Newtown & surrounding suburbs. Convenience-5 minute walk to Macdonaldtown station, 13 minute walk to Redfern station. 5 minute walk to King St, Newtown, 8 to Camperdown & Darlington. Amenities-beautifully appointed modern apartment. Spacious, full kitchen, well-lit bathroom, undercover deck overlooking courtyard garden. The queen size bed extremely comfortable, the spacious wardrobe a bonus, as was the washing machine & dryer. Value-certainly value for money given its location & what the apartment offers. Host-Ian is an exceptional host; friendly, personable & informative. The apartment is on the lower ground floor of his home. He was rarely seen and we felt our privacy was never compromised. Based on our experience we highly recommend this property.

The place is well located and just a short walk from a station, and the washing machine and well equiped kitchen is always a big plus for travelers

Excellent apartment. Home from home. Location also excellent. 5 mins away from Train Station & local amenities. Everything as described. Allan was a great host. Very communicative & helpful. Bit of noise from station but didn’t bother us. Fantastic base to enjoy Sydney and all it offers.

I am a solo traveller and I stayed for 8 days. Rodney was there to meet me and showed me how to use all the appliances. The kitchen was well stacked, which I hadn’t seen before in any airbnb. From eggs, bread, milk, soft drinks, coffee pods, butter, breakfast spreads, cereal etc. The place was very clean. Locantro Bakery is moments away serving the best coffee and pasties in Leichhardt. Bus stop outside the building and 10 minutes into central. Very handy location and a very spacious homely apartment, with everything you need. Thank you Rodney for the flexibility, much appreciated. 🙏

Absolutely perfect in all respects. Location was ideal, within walking distance to all public transport, close to a lovely park and numerous nearby cafes. Squeaky clean presentation, modern and comfortable. The host had thought of everything you could possibly need or want and was friendly, respectful and responsive. We enjoyed the extra treats left for us to enjoy.

loved the place, exactly as described and exactly what we needed for some rest and rejuvenation. Spent some quality time away with my son, we drove up from Melbourne and the secured underground carpark was wonderful for peace of mind. The train station is 5mins walk away, i enjoyed my walks to Ashfield aquatic centre for the gym, spa and sauna which was about 14mins easy walk. Comfortable bed and pillows and i enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. Wonderful stay

Brendan and Max's apartment worked well for us for a short stay in Sydney on our first visit to Australia. The apartment had everything that we needed and was comfortable as a base for exploring the city. It was about halfway between the airport and city center, but only a ten-minute walk to a train station that gave us an entrance to the extensive Sydney transportation network. We were able to get anywhere we wanted easily. We didn't do any cooking while we were there, but there was plenty of equipment and supplies if we wanted to do some. We had a good stay.

It was really a great stay at Penny's, the place is just a 2 minutes walk to Ashfield Train station and the security is superb, I feel safe. Penny provided complimentary food and drinks which really help us through dinner when we 1st arrived. All facilities are working great and I would love to come again! Highly recommended!

Cecilia is a fantastic air bnb host - Myself and my partner were up in Sydney for my surgery and Cecilia was supper accommodating pre stay and answered all my questions concerning my recovery. I can be very picky with cleanliness but this beautiful apartment is absolutely spotless. Close to everything you need as well!

Great location! Very close to the Mascot station—just less than 5 mins walk. Also close to every thing else: woolies, cafes, restaurants! Beautiful place to stay with balcony. Great lighting too from sunlight. My friends and I had a great stay.

Claire was an AMAZING host. She was so kind and accomodating to our needs. She was so detailed and responsive that there was never any confusion. Her house was also as beautiful as Australia! :) nice views with clean bathrooms and beds and towels. Her house is close to everything from the fish market to super markets to trams and the city. We will be returning to Sydney and I hope we can stay at Claire’s house again if possible! Thank you Claire!!!

Simon’s place was perfect for our family, the location is close to amenities and short drive to the city. The best part of the place is having a cart for us to use at the car park every time we come back! Nice touch from the hosts.
