Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Hikkaduwa

We couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay in Galle. Spotlessly clean rooms, large comfortable beds, super air conditioning and nice hot en-suite shower. we particularly loved the roof terrace in the evenings. Lots of communal seating areas inside as well and a well equipped kitchen area with complimentary tea and coffee. Great laundry service as well :D Souad made us feel so welcome and was a perfect host, really helpful and friendly and had lots of information about the area and arranged transport for our next destination. The accommodation was very quiet but conveniently right in the centre of the walled fort of Galle with tons of restaurants and shops. Perfect! Definitely stay here - great value for money. We would return :D

We arrived at three o'clock in the morning and met us like family. The hosts are very attentive and helpful. If you want to stay a little in the rainforest, watch parrots, squirrels, insects, look at plants, then this place is a great place. The veranda is located, so that you can enjoy the view of the vegetation and create a sense of privacy. Breakfast deserves special attention, time can be negotiated in advance, as it was convenient for us. There was always delicious Ceylon tea, fruit shakes, and the dishes were delicious with a local feel, new and varied every day. Now about the house and its hostess. An interesting design (which is why we chose it) for three friends was comfortable and cozy in it for three friends in it. The reality was better than the picture in the app. The host responded to our requests, all of our needs were met. Intika surrounded us with care and attention. We cooked dinners ourselves, either on the grill in the yard or in the kitchen at home. The evenings were spent on the veranda. They clean the house, if we wish, also change towels. There is a washing machine, the Hostess will be happy to show you how to use the appliances. And will dry things. What made us very happy is the beach. Wide coastline, great water temperature and minimum people. Unlike the other end of the beach. 12 minutes walk, we really liked these walks, there is an opportunity to see the real life of the locals. The fruit market is 10 minutes away. The fish market is 15 minutes away. We were very satisfied with both the location and the price and of course the quality. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Madu’s place was fantastic—peaceful, quiet, and perfect for a relaxing stay. The house is fully private, with its own kitchen and bathroom, offering great comfort and independence. The host, Madu, is incredibly communicative and helpful. Whether you have questions or need assistance, he’s always reachable, either in person or via phone. One thing to keep in mind: if you want to be close to the city center, it’s about a 20–30 minute walk, as the house is situated near the second river up north. However, this also means you get to enjoy a quiet, secluded space with almost no neighbours. (bonus: you get to see some fireflies at night) If you have a scooter, getting around won’t be an issue at all!

Chaminda and his family are truly beautiful. I came as a guest and left as family. They are kind, friendly, attentive and true in their genuine hospitality. The room they have is great and the surroundings are fabulous. 5 mins to beautiful beaches and 20 mins inland to an amazingly peaceful temple set within the jungle. I was lucky to have a group of semi local lads staying near me who work locally on a site and whom were so friendly and welcoming. If you want to experience Sri Lanka and the heart of the people who make this country so beautiful and then stay here, for it is a special place owned by a magical family 🙏

We had a great few nights, wish we could stay for longer! The place was spotless and had beautiful green surroundings. The dining area was peaceful and her and her staff were delightful. I would 100% recommend!

This awesome house is run by a very sweet family who are easy to communicate with and always do their best to help. The location is in a very green and quiet area away from the hustle and bustle with a beautiful Buddhist temple and green rice fields nearby with lots peacocks (and all kinds of birds) around. I stayed at this house for two months and it has been a delight.

Shamila is very welcoming and a good host. She had welcome smoothies at our arrival and also made breakfast every day, either toast, pancakes or some Sri Lankan breakfast. The place looks just like the pictures, very clean and nice. There’s also scooter rental possible at her place. You can walk to the closest beach, but have to walk a bit further to come to the nice parts, so I would recommend to rent a scooter to get around easily in town.

Excellent accommodation. Quiet neighbourhood. 3 beaches close by. Lots of wildlife, including seeing a mongoose early morning and fireflies in the evening. Lovely breakfast too.

We had a great time at Sanath's place, the beach at the doorstep is an incredible gem! The house is just by the bus stop which makes it a perfecr gateway for day trips to Galle and Hikkaduwa.

I had a great time staying with Naleen and Wasana, they were extremely helpful, helped me to arrange transportation, bike rental and occasional lunches and dinner, it is nice plays worth it is money with extremely pleasant and caring hosts. definitely recommend staying there

My sister and I spent a week at Isuru's and it was a real treat! The accommodation is very nice and quiet and we were lucky to have small dogs in the accommodation to which we became very attached Breakfasts were very good and dinners too. small point: we were very hot in the accommodation despite the fans, other than that, nothing to say!! thanks again for a wonderful time

Place was great. A clean and beautiful house. Very peaceful surrounding and very close to a nice clean beach Luma beach. Tuk tuk easily available from the stay to anywhere in Galle. Amazing Breakfast and very nice hosts. Recommended.

The space is perfect place to unwind. Located directly at the beach, the location is unbeatable and the large garden is also paradise. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. On the large grounds, we also got into conversation with a few regular guests who have been choosing this accommodation for many years. We absolutely understand why they keep coming back and would do the same. After a few days, we even had the feeling of belonging to the family and picked up coconuts together on our last day - that was really nice. Thanks for the hospitality and the great time! ✨

We had a wonderful time at Villa Sublime. Beautiful house, pool and garden. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the privacy. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the housekeeper cooked delicious food for us. Highly recommended.

what a fantastic location, wonderfull food and nice family!

Chani and Lali were lovely hosts! Very accommodating with check in, greeted us on arrival and were very friendly. The room was as pictured & described - very comfy bed, hot water! Shared kitchen facilities were very good, plenty of space in the fridge to keep what you wanted chilled. Location wise, the place is excellent - a very short walk to restaurants and the beach - but set back far enough to be peaceful. The hosts held our bags for us on check out day as we had an early start for a whale watching boat trip booked. Chani & Lali have built a lovely little sanctuary which felt really peaceful to stay at. Thank you, we enjoyed our stay :)

Bandu homestay/guesthouse is truely unique ... beautiful artistically painted quirky rooms & bathrooms/balconies set in a verdant lush garden of tall multi storied plants that's truely awe-inspiring conveying a natural peaceful ambience with its mangos, birds, squirrels, peacocks & even monkeys ... I couldn't stop taking photos of the place. Bandu is happy to sit & chat with you about Sri Lanka with excellent English & his wife makes the best tea in the morning & I was lucky enough to be offered curry & roti on occasion. Unawatuna is not my favourite beach but this is my "favourite" Airbnb & I will return in the future

Lovely room and Maria was super flexible with early check in as our travel plans had changed last minute. Beautiful room and we love Rio! Only consideration was that is close to the train tracks and you can hear the train passing in the morning

A beautiful family room tucked away from the kaos of the Main Street. The room was beautiful, spotless and comfortable. The balcony was lovely in the mornings and the beach towels provided were a welcome touch. Everything is within walking distance including the beach, cafes and restaurants. We had a wonderful stay in this gorgeous place. Highly recommend!

We had another wonderful stay in the villa this year. This time I didn't book directly by the sea, but a little further back. The room was very big and the two beds were very comfortable. The terrace was a dream, where I could enjoy my coffee every morning at 7 a.m. with a great view of the sea. Breakfast was as delicious as always and really plentiful (great Sri Lankan breakfast on request) ❤️ The whole team is as helpful and friendly as always. You come as a guest and leave as a friend. Speechless is an understatement. As much an art gallery as it is a villa! Architecture, design, engineering - sheer genius. Rooms are generous with space, have a shady private garden, a bath with two showers and two sinks for couples ! The pool is surrounded by vivid lush gardens, it’s deep and cool and perfect for a workout swim. The place has got numerous lounges and working places, WiFi. But most of all we fell in love with hosts Mike and Wally ! These two aren’t just hosts; they’re the heart and soul of this villa. They welcomed us at sunset with hugs that made us feel like family. World travelers and dream weavers, they’ve poured their adventures into creating a stay that’s nothing short of magical. All design, art and lush gardens done by their golden hands ! Exiting the gates is rice paddies and a temple. Surf at Kabalana - breezy 22-minute scooter ride away. Closest beach - 13 min. The place is cool and breezy on a sunny day, cosy in the rains, ambient at night. Just perfect!

My first place I stayed at in Sri Lanka and I really enjoyed it. Many travelers Iet raved about it also but in comparison to other places they'd stayed. Liked: The complimentary breakfasts that were great. The ac rooms. The monkeys on the roof! The super friendly and smiling neighbors. Short walk to the beach. Deck to sit on and read was peaceful. Washing machine. Bottled water to use. Didn't like: The kitchen wasn't as stocked as I'd like. The spices could use labeling and a refeash, the knives needed sharpening too. A cutting board would be nice (could help keep knives sharp longer too). Overall it wasn't so much a house stay as I was expecting, but more like a hostel of sorts. I loved it and would recommend.
