We absolutely loved this house. It is so cozy and charming, and the scenery is gorgeous. It doesn't feel like a rental, it feels like a home. Gudrun Maria really pays attention to the details that make your stay comfortable.

The cabins sit on a road away from where reception is, and the instructions were clear to get there. The hot tub does take a while to fill up, since it is filled with geothermal spring water, but it is definitely a must in Iceland. Relaxing in the hot tub after a long day of hiking and traveling the Golden Circle was a perfect ending.

We really enjoyed our stay at your beautiful accomodations! It was so peaceful and very comfortable for our family. The cabin was clean and well appointed with everything we needed to make our stay perfect. Our son slept on the pull out couch, so it made the accomodations a bit cramped, but we used the closet for our clothes and kept our luggage in the trunk of our rental car to save space. It was so nice to sit in the geothermal hot tub after a day out and watch the horses on the field in front of the cabin. We would 100% recommend Akurgerdi for anyone sighseeing in the South of Iceland. We were within an hour drive from all the sites we wanted to see.

This home is even prettier in person. The summer landscape had beautiful green hills and purple flowers. The outside has been recently updated which really stood out among the surroundings. The hot tub was a great feature, at first we thought it might not be hot enough, but once we got in with the cool weather and windy breeze, it was perfect. The location is great for exploring and hiking. The wool sweaters, hats etc. were very nice and well made. Our Iceland trip has been so much fun, and this AIRBB was a great choice!

The barn house was beautifully built and decorated with spectacular views. The skylight windows were perfect for watching for the northern lights. The kitchen had all the basics and some extras like a nespresso machine and pods. We enjoyed cooking there and using the hot tub. The washer and dryer were super helpful. It was a great launching place for the Golden Circle. Stokkseyri is a cute little town with a great local pool. The turf house across the street was fun to explore as was the beach on the other side of the turf wall. It is very near Bakkahestar for highly recommended Icelandic horse rides with a local couple on the beach in Eyrarbakki. Nearby Selfoss has anything you need including an amazing fish market Fiskbud Suderlands for great prices on fresh caught local fish. Kristinn was very responsive and we loved our stay!

Wow! What a place! The home was absolutely beautiful. The children loved all the games and toys, and the playhouse bed was something from a dream, as was the bath in the bedroom. It was comfortable and roomy, and in the most peaceful setting. We took a walk to the waterfall down the road as recommended by the host and we're awed. I was very sad to leave this place and move on to the next.

One of the best places we stayed while in Iceland. We were able to walk to the private black sand beach to watch the sunset. So picturesque and beautiful. The yurt was very comfortable. The heated beds were perfect. Even caught a glimpse of the northern lights! Cannot recommend this place enough.

Great cabin at a great location, close to lots of nice sightseeing. The cabin itself feels very homey, and had lots to play with for our 1,5 yo old son. Agnes is a great host as well!

A lovely cabin in peaceful surroundings — the perfect place to recharge and enjoy a relaxing holiday. Highly recommended!

The farm is absolutely beautiful with many horses, cows, sheep (it was lambing season!), dogs, and cats. We loved walking around the property and visiting with all of the animals and taking in the gorgeous views. The farm is located about 2.5 miles down a gravel road, which was no problem in our tiny 2WD rental car in May. The house itself is one of about six or seven other tiny home type structures behind the host’s home, all fairly private. My only complaint is the pillows which were rather thin. The property is located about 10-15 minutes from beautiful waterfalls like Seljalandsfoss Gljufrabui.

Stoma’s cottage was a lovely home to come back to after a day exploring. It was warm, cosy and comfortable. The hot tub was particularly welcomed!

Such a beautiful setting and comfortable stay. I wouldn't change a thing about this place! There are four waterfalls within an hours drive of this place that you don't need to hike to in order to view (highly recommend all of them). If you plan on doing any outdoor activities that require towels, I'd recommend picking some up at the nearby convenience store (about 15min away) as there are only two. Also, the kitchen already had some cooking oil and spices, which was a nice surprise :)

Marteinn welcomed us in his lovely house. It was clean and comfortable and there were lots of birds around the house. He was very quick in responding and we felt right at home. Thank you!

Photos were very accurate. The view in the morning was so pretty, and the house wasn’t hard to find. Jonina wasn’t available in person, but her sister helped direct us to the cabin at night, with no problem at all, and was very helpful. We all enjoyed our stay!

A unique and peaceful experience with mountain views and Icelandic horses and sheep in back field. Convenient location for seeing the sights on the way to Vik.

Great place with lovely views

we spent three nights in a very pleasant accommodation close to many sites. it is very well equipped, quiet and we were able to see northern lights from the sofa through the glass windows of the living room. we highly recommend this accommodation! thank you for the welcome and the ideas for visits nearby!

Georg was very quick to respond to questions. He gave very clear, helpful directions as it isn’t easy to find. House was clean, view from the large living room window was lovely.

This house was perfect. The hostesses met us when we arrived, gave us instructions on things they wanted us to make sure we knew (for safety and such due to the temperatures), and spent around 2 hours giving us a tour and history of the house. It was absolutely perfect for what we needed and they were so thoughtful with all of their recommendations for activities with our children. We 100% recommend this house to others and we will be coming back in the future!

Burma’s beautiful home is ideal for anyone who wants two bathrooms (hard to find in Iceland) and plenty of space. It’s in a quaint small town very close to the Golden Circle and not far from Selfoss, which has more substantial amenities. Easy drive to Gullfoss and Geysir, and a small grocery is within walking distance of the house. The views from the sunroom are beautiful. The kitchen is modern, functional, and spacious. The outdoor area, including the hot tub, is wonderful in the evening. The nearby restaurants, including those in Reykholt, are wonderful! We highly recommend this place for people who want extra space and don’t want to stay in the busy capital city. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

We loved our short but sweet stay at this peaceful location. Would definitely return on another trip! A perfect location for Golden Circle or heading further south. Loved it and the surroundings!
