Loon Sound Lake House, Surry, near Acadia Nat. Pk.

AliRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Maureen and Rob are wonderful human beings and such amazing and welcoming hosts. This was, hands down our best Airbnb experience to date. Both of them were super friendly and welcomed us into their beautiful home that sits right on top of a calm lake. We would wake up every morning to wonderful aroma from Maureen’s kitchen and we’d be welcomed by delicious home made breakfast, accompanied by Rob’s pour over coffee adjusted in strength according to our preference. Besides exploring Acadia national park (Maureen’s recommendations were on point) we ended up spending some quality time on the lake by their house, where Rob (who’s energy is awesome) went above and beyond to teach us how to fish and also offered us his canoe which we gladly took out on the water. An extremely memorable trip and would 10/10 recommend their place for your next trip to Maine.
The exterior showcases a charming cottage with grey siding and a stone path leading to the entrance. Lush greenery surrounds the property, including a small ornamental tree. A glass-enclosed porch can be seen, offering an inviting transition between the outdoor and indoor spaces.

Osprey Cottage

We had a perfect stay at David’s house. The home itself is beautiful and cozy. We had everything we needed and spent a lot of time around the house, taking walks, sitting on the front porch, and enjoying the yard. The location was wonderful; we found many beautiful hikes and scenic spots within half an hour and explored a different area every day. We would definitely stay again! I can’t recommend it highly enough. David was a wonderful host and very kind and responsive.

NEW! Beautiful Modern Farmhouse

JenniferRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We stayed here for a concert weekend in Bangor and it was perfect! The place was spotless, with thoughtful touches that made it feel super comfortable. Communication with Alex was top-notch—quick, clear, and friendly. The location was also ideal—close enough to everything we needed but still peaceful and quiet. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a clean, convenient, and well-hosted spot in the area. Would absolutely stay again!

Bill and Paul are both super friendly and responsive as hosts. Due to poor planning on my part I had to cut my stay short unfortunately- i had planned one day in Acadia and two more farther away in the Belfast area, about 1.5-2 hours away and I didn’t realize how far I was at first. But I would 10/10 recommend and would stay again. It is a beautiful historic home and super clean- cleaner than most hotels I’ve stayed in. As good as everything was the cleaninless was what blew me away, I didn’t even mind the shared bathroom. Large shower with good pressure, very comfortable bed and very cool decor, it really feels like a New England experience. Next time I’m in the area I will definitely see if they are available again!

We couldn’t be happier with our stay! Everyone we encountered at the Black friar was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The food was above and beyond our expectations, and we didn’t feel the need to go to any other restaurants. THE COFFEE in the morning is roasted locally and tastes really special. We will be recommending the inn to everyone we know going to Bar Harbor! Thank you!!!

I can’t say enough good things about my stay here. The location is super close to Acadia National Park. The room we stayed in was so cozy, clean and felt so homey. We loved the breakfast the next morning, the blueberry muffins were to die for. I wish we were able to stay here for more than 1 night. If you’re thinking about staying here.. you most definitely should!

Oceanfront Historic B&B with Ocean View/Access 303

ElleRating, 5 stars8 months ago
We loved spending a few days at this rustic b&b! Soft towels, a good bed, and lots of charm. it was beautiful and the people who run it are very kind! Those with a nervous predisposition should know there are no locks, but that’s standard in this part of the world because it’s very safe. Breakfast included made it feel really easy and cozy, even though there were quite a few good breakfast options in the area. The views from the property are stunning: stargazing by the water at night was a real treat. If you are looking for rustic, unpretentious, and stunningly beautiful Maine, this is it.

Chocolate Chip B&B/St. Germain Room

Sue and Eric were lovely hosts; Sue's breakfasts were amazing - just the homemade touch we were looking for after a long road trip. Eric had plenty of recommendations, from tidal pools to hiking spots in Acadia. The B&B was cozy and had so many books to pick up and read. Lamoine beach, just down the road, made for a very pleasant early morning walk. I'd recommend Sue and Eric's place to anyone coming to Acadia!

Ironbound Inn Acadian #1 Upscale. Near Acadia.

StaciRating, 5 stars6 months ago
Our stay was just as I expected. We arrived late and was able to have dinner as soon as we checked in. Leslie was very helpful in making recommendations of seeing Acadia. She has printed material in the room with recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants and we used many of them. Well worth the price! We are at Ironbound 3x and found all the food and drinks to be excellent!

Comfortable and convenient stay for our few days near Acadia National Park. It took 45 minutes to an hour to get to Bar Harbor and the park, which was very doable. We had everything we needed and felt very taken care of. it was also a bonus not having to worry about breakfast since Tony supplied us with quite a homemade assortment! The homestead is lovely, and we enjoyed a nearby hike one afternoon as well.
