The Wolf Chalet is a Veteran owned and operated little black cabin. It is tucked high atop the beautiful Moonridge neighborhood in Big Bear Lake with views of the San Bernardino Mountains and National Forest. You can enjoy everything Big Bear has to offer just minutes away and return to a warm mountain top peaceful retreat. Come home to this cozy cabin nestled high in the woods.

The space
The Wolf Chalet features vaulted ceilings in every room and was recently updated. It’s been thoughtfully furnished with new fresh decor, appliances, lighting and modern furniture while retaining a classic rustic cabin feel. The cabin is small but perfect for a small family or a small group of friends. It features an open concept livingroom with a brand new huge sectional sofa in front of the warm fireplace that can be turned into a queen size bed. A queen mattress topper for the living room sectional is provided in the downstairs bedroom closet (along with linens) that should be used if sleeping on the sofa to protect the sofa and have a better nights sleep. We highly recommend it.

Open up the bar cart and pick from the many games provided. There's also Giant Jenga in one of the baskets! The livingroom opens up to the large front deck where you can enjoy a family dinner, BBQ, play some shuffle toss, or sit in front of the warm fire pit while the whole family enjoys some hot cocoa.

The upstairs bedroom has a full bath and stunning windows with amazing views of the mountains. You won't resist a foosball competition on the foosball table in the center of the room, or enjoy a relaxing night of Netflix. The futon is great for 2 kids or 1 adult. There are premium memory foam queen beds provided in both rooms.

Guest access
The entire chalet-style cabin is available to guests, except for the basement and some closets that are locked or labeled “Private” for the housekeeper and owner.

Please note that there are considerable amount of stairs to access the property as we are located in a mountainous community. There is an alley parking space in the back of the house with less stairs but is sometimes not accessible due to snow conditions. Please consider this before booking.

Other things to note
Please note that Moonridge is a hilly/mountainous neighborhood that can become very icy and snowed in very quickly. Please plan ahead and bring snow chains as it can be very difficult and dangerous to get in/out/around Moonridge and the entire Big Bear area.

The driveways and pathway to door will be plowed after a snowstorm but guests are responsible for getting in and out of driveways and parking areas.

Guests are responsible for removing snow from stairs and patios with the snow shovels located in the mud room.

No refunds will be granted due to weather or road conditions. Please plan ahead and bring snow chains in winter months. - If all roads to Big Bear are closed, we will gladly rescheduled the reservation. - Please note that power outages can happen without notice in the mountain areas. Refunds will not be given for power outages or rolling blackouts that are out of our control.

Check-in time is subject to change due to weather/storm constraints during winter season. No refunds will be provided if check-in time must be extended due to cleaning crew not being able to access the property in a timely manner due to heavy snow, road closures, etc. Please understand staff must work in extreme weather conditions which can take longer than expected.
