Just a few miles from the Cumbrian border, it's the ideal location for some well deserved rest and relaxation. Expect a genuine and enthusiastic welcome from your hosts Jules and David, whose aim is to make your stay special, and where nothing is too much trouble.
The space
The suite is a spacious self-contained annex, over two floors, located in the hamlet of Cotterdale, 3.5 miles from the market town of Hawes in Upper Wensleydale. Dilapidated outbuildings have been lovingly restored, maintaining many original features. Stone walls, wooden stairs to the old hayloft and exposed roof features provide an authentic and atmospheric environment. It's the perfect tranquil retreat for one or two people wanting to stay in a peaceful setting surrounded by wonderful views and abundant wildlife. Watch and feed the local red squirrel population from the garden bench and star gaze in tandem for the most romantic experience.
Offering luxury accommodation, inspired by the local area, we provide the following facilities:
A home cooked breakfast using local and homemade produce served in a private dining room.
Super king size bed.
Cotton waffle double faced robes.
Separate lounge area.

Cotterdale is a small side dale and hamlet on the north side of Wensleydale in North Yorkshire, England. The dale lies to the west of Great Shunner Fell. It is drained by East Gill and West Gill, which between them have nine waterfalls. They join to form Cotterdale Beck, which flows over three more waterfalls, including Cotter Force, below which the beck joins the River Ure.
In the heart of Wensleydale, a beautiful walk from your door, lies the gem of a waterfall by the name of Hardraw Force behind the hamlet of Hardraw. At just under 100 feet it is England's highest, unbroken, single drop waterfall.
Hawes, 3.5 miles from Cotterdale, is a delightful Dales village of mellow stone buildings, shops and houses, linked by cobbled streets. At one end you will find the Wensleydale Creamery where you can sample the famous Wensleydale cheese as well as enjoying a bite to eat surrounded by a stunning Dales landscape.
Aysgarth Falls are a triple flight of waterfalls surrounded by woodland and farmland, carved out by the River Ure over an almost one-mile stretch on its descent to mid Wensleydale near the village of Aysgarth. The falls are quite spectacular after heavy rainfall as thousands of gallons of water cascade over the series of broad limestone steps, which are divided into three stages: Upper Force, Middle Force and Lower Force.
Bolton Castle, in the village of Castle Bolton, is a notable local historic site. Building of the structure was begun by Richard le Scrope, Lord Treasurer and Lord Chancellor to Richard II, in 1378. The building was finally completed in around 1399.
