The space
Waterfront cottage on Seneca Lake with a private deep-water dock, shale shoreline beach, free kayaks and paddleboards, and the Seneca Lake Wine Trail two miles away. Built for couples, anniversaries, romantic getaways, and wine-trip weekends in the Finger Lakes — minutes from Watkins Glen, thirty-plus Riesling wineries, the gorges, and Watkins Glen International. Dog-friendly: up to two dogs welcome. Burdett, NY.

THE COTTAGE
Seven hundred square feet, one bedroom, one full bath, designed for two. Floor-to-ceiling lake-facing windows frame the water from the living area. A full kitchen equipped for real cooking — electric range/oven, refrigerator, and Keurig machine for your morning coffee. A queen bed with linens you'll actually want to sleep in. Electric heat, mini split AC, fast Wi-Fi, and a smart TV with streaming apps signed out so you can sign into your own accounts. Designed as a quiet lake house for two — and the two dogs you brought.

THE WATERFRONT
Your private deep-water dock, exclusive to the cottage — not a community dock, not an HOA dock, not a slip you share with twelve other cabins. You can launch your water toys from the private shale beach. We offer free use of our kayaks and paddleboards for responsible guests (users assume all risks); drag them to the dock and launch. Two fire pits, starter wood ready, perfect for blue-hour sunsets over the western shore. The beach is natural Finger Lakes shale, swimmable and excellent for dock-entry swimming and lake-trout fishing; water shoes are recommended.

THE WINE TRAIL
The Seneca Lake Wine Trail begins about two miles away and the Hector Wine Trail (Seneca's western shore) is at your door. More than thirty wineries sit within a twenty-minute drive — Hermann J. Wiemer, Ravines Wine Cellars, Lamoreaux Landing, Boundary Breaks, Forge Cellars, Red Newt, Standing Stone, Damiani, Anthony Road, Atwater, Wagner, Glenora, Lakewood, Chateau LaFayette Reneau. Seneca Lake is the Riesling capital of the Eastern U.S. and a recognized cool-climate wine region. Add Scalehouse, Grist Iron Brewing, Two Goats Brewing, Climbing Bines, Wagner Brewing, Finger Lakes Distilling, and Glenora Wine Cellars for a full wine-trail-and-brewery weekend.

THE LOCATION
Burdett, New York — western shore of Seneca Lake, Schuyler County, Finger Lakes wine country. Watkins Glen State Park is eight miles south (gorge trail, waterfalls, swimming). Watkins Glen International (the racetrack — NASCAR, IMSA, US Vintage Grand Prix) is ten miles south. Finger Lakes National Forest is six miles east with hiking and trail riding. Ithaca and Cornell University are thirty-five miles south; Ithaca's gorges, Buttermilk Falls, and Robert H. Treman State Park are day-trip distance. The village of Watkins Glen has dining, coffee, and a walkable Seneca Harbor Marina front. Rochester (ROC) is ninety minutes north; Ithaca (ITH) airport is forty-five minutes south; Elmira/Corning (ELM) is fifty minutes southwest.

DOG-FRIENDLY POLICY
Up to two dogs welcome with prior approval. $75 flat pet fee covers both. Tell us breed, size, and house-training status at booking. No cats, no aggressive breeds, and please keep dogs on-leash on the shared shoreline. The Finger Lakes is a dog-traveler's region — most wineries have outdoor patios that welcome leashed dogs, and the trails at Finger Lakes National Forest allow leashed dogs throughout.

WHY WE BUILT THIS
We kept it simple on purpose. Good coffee, good sheets, a fire pit that works, a dock that's yours, and room enough for the dogs. The sunset does most of the talking. Our best guests stay three or four nights, arrive with a bottle of Seneca Lake Riesling, and leave asking when they can come back.

Guest access
Guests have full access to the cottage and attached dock. We offer self check in with a door code. There is a Ring doorbell camera on site.

Other things to note
There is ample parking available. The cottage is 21 steps down from the parking area.
