The space
River Rest Cabin is a 2-acre riverfront property surrounded by a 50+ acre farm in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains. Enjoy privacy and seclusion while having year-round convenience to Gatlinburg, Pigeon, Forge, and Sevierville. The cabin blends high-end comfort with Smoky Mountain charm. Inside, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, vaulted ceilings, large windows with river views, and cozy sleeping arrangements for up to 5 guests. The spacious living room features a stone fireplace and smart TV, while the private back deck opens to your own swimming hole — perfect for floating, wading, or simply relaxing by the water. Unwind on the riverside deck, roast s’mores around the fire pit with provided firewood, or enjoy coffee with panoramic views of rolling pastureland and nearby mountain ridges. The private swimming hole is spring-fed, clear, and serene — a rare find in the Smokies. With included kayaks and tubes, the activities are endless at River Rest Cabin. Whether you’re fishing, kayaking, tubing, or simply dipping your toes, it’s a highlight guests rave about.
Enjoy our private yet year-round accessible cabin with 2 bedrooms (king beds - one on main level and the other in loft bedroom upstairs) + queen sleeper sofa in living room. There are 2 full en-suite bathrooms. The two bedrooms sleep 4 adults very comfortably and the Queen pull out sleeper sofa sleeps 1 adult or 2 children at a maximum. We pride ourselves in providing quality linens and bedding on top of our 5-star mattresses and pillows.. you won’t want to leave! Fall asleep in the Loft Room to the sounds of the fireplace crackling down below or let the river rock you to sleep in the River Room on the main level. Down the road from where Dolly Parton grew up and in the middle of it all between Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville (Pittman Center area), this cabin was lovingly hand-built by the previous owner's father and remains as the ideal cabin to escape from the hustle and bustle of town. It was lovingly restored and renovated in early 2019 to give the cabin a vintage-inspired yet contemporary upgrade throughout so you can enjoy modern amenities with a classic cabin feel. Cozy, dreamy, and nostalgic vibes!
With easy access year-round (even in the Winter - flat roads to and from cabin), you can enjoy all 4 seasons! Hiking, fishing, whitewater rafting, tubing, sightseeing, swimming, shopping, snow skiing/ice skating at Ober Gatlinburg, Dollywood, walking downtown Gatlinburg, and the Greenbrier Entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are all nearby. Enjoy total privacy, the convenience of its central location, and the river all at the same time!
Perfect for a honeymoon, family vacation, or just a peaceful escape, the cabin features a large wraparound covered back porch, riverfront deck, and river access stairs where you can unwind and explore the river. Outside on the expansive yet flat 2 acre property, there are two picnic tables with views of the river, an outdoor dining table on the porch, all weatherproof outdoor furniture, outdoor propane gas grill for cookouts, horseshoe pit, bocce ball set, cornhole set, kayaks, river tubes, life jackets, and a fire pit + benches with string lights all around to enjoy time together telling stories and making s'mores night or day!
Inside, you will find a newly renovated interior with all new furniture/decor/upgrades, large gas fireplace built with locally sourced river rocks found right outside the cabin, open living room with cozy rocking chairs, new Restoration Hardware down queen sleeper sofa, full kitchen with KitchenAid appliances, reverse osmosis water system for the best drinking water, water softener system throughout the house, loaded complimentary Keurig coffee bar, pantry staples, high-speed fiber internet through Spectrum, loft bedroom with King bed upstairs, 2nd bedroom on main level with King bed, 2 full bathrooms (1 upstairs shower and 1 downstairs combo tub/shower), towels/linens provided, washer + dryer, iron + ironing board, complimentary toiletries, propane grill, and a hot tub on its own private screened-in porch on the river!

Guest access
Everywhere within the 2 acres. From the fence on the right of house to the other side of the yard behind the storage building (Mill Branch Creek & waterfall) on far left of property. Guests have full access to the entire cabin, surrounding fenced-in acreage, riverfront deck, screened-in hot tub porch, and private swimming hole. Enjoy easy self check-in and ample and flat parking. You’ll feel worlds away, yet you’re just a short drive to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and popular trailheads in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Power/WiFi outages (more specifically in spring/winter months) are common due to this being a country cabin. We have high-speed fiber internet with a buried line so you would only experience an outage if power goes out. We have a backup hotspot, if needed. We can also bring water to you if power goes out because the water is on an electric pump. Please contact me if you experience any power outages. It’s all part of living like a local!
