The space
This charming holiday home combines alpine character, excellent amenities, and a sense of warmth and comfort in perfect harmony. It is a place where you arrive, take a deep breath, and simply want to stay.
On the ground floor, the bright and open living and dining area with kitchenette and soapstone stove invites you to soak in the fantastic mountain views from a sunny and peaceful setting. A table seating up to six adults plus one child is perfect for cosy get-togethers in the dining area. A raclette set is available, as well as a Tripp Trapp high chair and an IKEA Antilop toddler chair. Also on this floor is a bathroom with shower and WC. The (summer) entrance door leads out to the garden and the parking space. A comfortable corner sofa lets you enjoy the views of the valley and the surrounding mountains once more.
The kitchen is small but perfectly capable of catering to a whole family with (simple) meals. It is equipped with a two-ring hob, an oven (top and bottom heat), a kettle, and a small fridge (approx. 100 litres with a small freezer compartment). A Bialetti Moka coffee maker and a teapot are also available, along with the usual cooking utensils such as pots, pans, etc. – all of which look forward to being washed by hand (there is no dishwasher).
On the lower ground floor you will find the (winter) entrance area and a bedroom heated by a cosy soapstone-clad fireplace. An en-suite bathroom with shower and WC is attached. An armchair in this room invites you to read, relax, or simply watch the fire.
On the upper floor there are two further bedrooms:
The master bedroom features a double bed (2 × 90×200 cm). From the bed you have a breathtaking view over the Prättigau valley and can watch the sun rise over the mountain peaks above Klosters and Davos in the morning. A comfortable armchair is ideal for reading or unwinding.
The second bedroom is the children’s room. It contains:
∙ a 90×200 cm bed with a standard medium-firm mattress
∙ two “stackable beds” (80×200 cm) that we normally use for our own children. The mattresses are designed primarily for children up to 50 kg and are on the softer side. These two beds are normally stacked on top of each other.
Since we spend our holidays and weekends here with our children, you will also find various children’s toys, a children’s table with chairs, and a few books.
The house is heated primarily with wood; electric heaters are available in the bedrooms as a supplement.
The firewood supply is distributed around the house and is included in the price (for heating the house only).
There is only one parking space at the property, for one car. In winter it is generally accessible, though the last section of the road and the parking space itself are on private land and must therefore be cleared by guests themselves (approx. 10 m of road). A 4×4 vehicle or snow chains may be necessary in winter. If more than one parking space is needed, the nearest paid public car parks (clearly marked) are in the village of Pany itself. Please note that in winter, most “open” car parks have a night-time parking ban (for snow clearance), and night permits must be obtained separately from the municipality of Luzein/Pany. The simplest solution is to come with just one car, or better yet, take the PostBus.
Around our house there are several small farm shops offering local and regional products, as well as coffee, cake, and even fresh vegetables.
In Pany (15 minutes on foot) there is a Volg supermarket, a pizzeria, a post office, and various local shops that also offer fresh bread, plaited loaf, croissants, and other treats to order on Saturdays and Sundays. The nearest PostBus stop is also in Pany, with good public transport connections to Küblis, Schiers, and St. Antönien.
Detailed instructions for operating the stoves are available in the house and must be followed carefully. The same folder contains further useful tips about the house and activities in the surrounding area.
Bed linen and towels are provided and are for use inside the house only. If you wish to visit the open-air swimming pool in Pany in summer or one of the baths in the Prättigau in winter, please bring your own towels.
Guest access
Our guests have access to our entire house including the garden.
There are two cabinets marked with a “private” sign - we ask that you respect our privacy regarding these.
Other things to note
There is only one car parking slot available at the house!
