Escape to The Hartstene Refuge, a private island retreat surrounded by towering cedars on Harstine Island in South Puget Sound. Designed for rest, connection, and outdoor adventure, this thoughtfully crafted home offers forest privacy, a hot tub, bikes, kayaks, and access to private beaches and trails.

The space
As you step inside, you’ll notice the warmth of cedar accents milled from trees on the property, bringing the surrounding forest indoors. Original artwork painted by my father hangs throughout the home, inspired by Pacific Northwest landscapes, mountains, and farmland.

The open living space is designed for comfort and connection, featuring a fully stocked kitchen, in-ceiling sound system, fireplace, and surround sound for cozy movie nights. With three comfortable bedrooms, guests enjoy quiet, restful sleep after full days outdoors.

Step onto the expansive deck and take in views of cedars, Douglas fir, and huckleberry bushes preserved on the neighboring lot for guests to enjoy. Whether it’s morning coffee, soaking in the hot tub, or evenings around the fire pit, this space invites you to slow down.
