The space
The Elf Haus is outfitted with amenities to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Whether you’re here for an adventure-filled getaway or a peaceful retreat, we’ve got you covered.
Enjoy a soak in the private hot tub located on the main deck, surrounded by forest, it’s the perfect place to unwind after a day outdoors or gaze up at the stars in the quiet mountain air.
This home is ideal for a couple, two couples, or a family with kids. And of course, dogs are always welcome at the Elf Haus.
There are two dedicated bedrooms plus a basement with a Murphy bed. The main floor bedroom features a queen bed and a beautiful view of the surrounding woods. The tranquil upstairs master has a king bed, custom barn doors framing views through the A-frame, and windows that look out to the mountains and trees to the south and west.
Note: Airbnb does not offer a “Murphy bed” or “basement” option, so the listing may indicate a sofa bed in the living room—this is actually the Murphy bed located in the finished basement, which also serves as a second living area.
All of our beds feature Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam Mattresses (12” in bedrooms, 10” on the Murphy bed), offering medium-firm support and pressure-relieving comfort for a restorative night’s sleep.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare a cozy meal. A coffee bar is stocked with beans for drip coffee, espresso, and lattes. A spice cabinet, cooking basics, and beverage fridge make it easy to settle in and enjoy. It’s a gourmet setup designed for functionality and warmth.
The master bedroom has a private ensuite bath. There’s a full bathroom on the main floor and a half bath in the basement. All bathrooms are stocked with William Roam toiletries, fluffy towels, hairdryers, and soft robes for your comfort.
The main living area invites you to unplug and slow down. Floor-to-ceiling windows and skylights bring the forest in, and it’s not unusual to spot moose, foxes, or even bears passing by. Curl up by the wood-burning fireplace, spin a vinyl on the record player, or enjoy board games with your crew around the dining table. A Sonos speaker is provided for music lovers.
Radiant in-floor heating keeps things cozy throughout the home, with the fireplace offering an extra layer of warmth and ambiance. Firewood is provided.
Upstairs, you’ll find a reading nook overlooking the A-frame and a peaceful four-season porch where you can sip tea while surrounded by trees.
The finished basement includes a large smart TV, desk with a monitor (HDMI cable provided) for remote work, and a washer/dryer stocked with detergent and supplies. Large doors open to the 2.5-acre forested lot—take the trail and enjoy a quiet walk in nature.
The Elf Haus is styled in a warm Mountain Modern aesthetic, featuring cozy textures, Colorado art, and an intentional hygge vibe to help you feel truly at home in the mountains.

Other things to note
*WINTER INFO & 4WD/AWD*
We DO REQUIRE 4-wheel drive during the winter months along with adequate snow tires or chains. AWD is also a bonus.
Park County does an excellent job in plowing and maintaining the main roads, including CR 14 up to Mountain View Drive. You should be able to get to the house fairly easy with the appropriate vehicle and tires or traction. If you are uncertain if your tires will make it, we recommend picking up a set of chains or auto socks.
We have a reliable plow service but plowing isn’t immediate, we are on the rotation after snowfall is 4 inches. Please plan accordingly.
*ELEVATION*
The Elf Haus sits at 11,000 feet above sea level (3352 meters). If you are not used to this altitude, we recommend taking it easy until you are acclimated. Drink plenty of water and not exerting yourself too hard will help with this adjustment. What you can expect varies for everyone, but slight headaches, getting easily winded and some mild sleep disruption is common. Our best recommendation is to HYDRATE as much as possible and take some Advil and maybe an extra nap. That usually does the trick.
