During the winter period (November to February), we experience some storms that, depending on their intensity, sometimes bring sargassum and trash to our beaches. This situation is beyond our control; however, we will endeavor to keep the beach free of trash upon your arrival and during your stay, while the sargassum is usually washed away with the next tide.

Chuburná Puerto is a fishing village in Yucatan just 40 minutes from Merida, it is characterized by its beautiful beaches with crystal clear waters, stunning sunsets and the warmth of its people.

Our home is located in a small fishing port isolated from the city or large tourist areas, to get to the nearest shops and restaurants it is necessary to have a car or hire a tuck tuck (mototaxi), the lifestyle of the port is quiet and peaceful ideal to experience the connection with nature and rest, a totally different experience to great resorts such as Cancun and the Mayan Riviera.

In addition to the sea, we have a estuary where you can fish and where at certain times of the year you can see some flamingos.

In the center of Chelem or Chuburná, a few minutes drive from the house, you can do some basic shopping for fresh food. If you're looking for a wider variety, we recommend Merida and Progreso markets and supermarkets.

The city of Merida is just 40 minutes away by car and has countless cultural and entertainment attractions, as well as being named the best small town in the world for travel (Condé Nast Magazine Magazine) and one of the safest cities in the world (CEO world magazine).
