Overlooking the Ohio River, the Cedar Cabin at the River's Edge Cabins offers a peaceful, comfortable, and intimate experience of the Ohio River. With a queen, 2 twins, and another queen in the loft, this would be great for families, hunters, or couples. Smart TV. Animal friendly. Free wi-fi available.
The space
This cozy, rustic, cedar-walled single-room cabin directly overlooks the Ohio River. The bathroom has a shower, sink, and toilet. Outside there is direct access to the beach & water , as well as a large open grassy & landscaped space overlooking the river, with a gas grill, a fire pit, swing set, climbing dome, and flagstone areas with covered tables. (Please note that people have varying experiences with the path to the river -- the path is a little rocky and can be muddy after a rain, but for those without mobility issues it's rarely an issue to reach the river when the weather is good). The property also borders a deep creek, with lots of trees. The cabins & yard are mostly separated from the road by the restaurant (no longer open to the public). Two parking spaces available per cabin (please reach out ahead of time should you want more spaces). Locally-sourced coffee provided in the cabin. The room is heated/cooled primarily with a mini split unit, with space heaters available for additional support. Cabins are a few hundred feet from the parking lot.
Guest access
Guests can access the river and large yard at their leisure. (Please note that people have varying experiences with the path to the river -- the path is a little rocky and can be muddy after a rain, but for those without mobility issues it's rarely an issue to reach the river when the weather is good). There is also a landing spot for boats about four miles south (KH Butler) and a cute little town about a 15-minute drive north. Free onsite parking lot is available. We live in a very rural area, so there are a variety of dwellings and lots of patches of woods around.

We offer a contact-free, COVID-friendly checkin. Very kid friendly. Very pet friendly. Smoking & vaping permitted on cabin deck and outside public areas, but not in cabins please. Free Wi-Fi.

Neighborhood highlights
Very beautiful, rural terrain, from the river to the farmland to the hills and trees. A wide mix of dwellings scattered around, including farm houses, cabins, and campers. We're about 10 minutes from a lovely little town that's just large enough to have everything you need but small enough to still feel like you're in the country. When the river is low enough (most of the year), you can fish at our beach (there's a little path down directly from our property) or at the dam, less than a mile from us. We're also about four miles from KH Butler, a large boat launch.
