The space
My parents built this cottage in 1960 and some of the mid-century original furnishings are still there. From Barboursville you have easy access to Interstate 64. There are only three porch steps to climb to enter this one floor home.

In the living room, there is a couch, recliner, chair, 50” Smart TV w/voice remote, a sound bar, and tons of shows, plus access to Amazon, and many more channels.

The kitchen is equipped for cooking with a full-size electric range/oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Dishes, silverware, pots and pans, a drip coffee maker, a coffee grinder, coffee, and a toaster are provided. There’s a crock pot and blender as well. If you need anything else, please message me and if I have it, you are welcome to use it.

There’s a kitchen table with 4 chairs plus another table in the living room with 3 more chairs. For your convenience, some staples like salt and pepper, non-stick spray for pans, coffee, sugar, non-dairy creamer, a few spices, etc. are provided. If you plan to cook, please also plan to thoroughly clean the kitchen. You will need to shop for your groceries if you choose to cook meals. Aldi, Foodfair, and Kroger are all very close by. Reusable shopping bags are located on the hooks next to the front door.

The home has 3 bedrooms and will sleep 6 people maximum. Our place has central heat & air conditioning to keep you comfortable year-round. Every bedroom (1 king, 1 queen, & 1 double bed) has a ceiling fan and a closet with extra pillows and blankets. We wash used linens and blankets after every guest, every time.

In the King bedroom, there’s a tv cabinet with a small tv and DVD player with a plethora of movies. In the full size bedroom, there is an Xfinity Flexbox connected to a small TV that provides access to Peacock, and many choices. The queen bedroom has a clock/radio/cd. We kindly ask that you remove the bedspreads and any fancy pillows before sleeping; a note reminding you to do so is on the beds because we do not wash bedspreads after every guest (they would not stand up to the constant washing).

The bathroom is well-stocked with a variety of toiletries, shampoos, conditioners, a blow dryer, TP, lots of towels, makeup remover & cotton pads, & a first aid kit.

Barboursville Park’s Lake William is 1.8 miles from my place. It’s a great place to walk, fish, or just sit and enjoy the park. Besides the lake, the park features over 750 acres of outdoor fun. With hiking and biking trails, a splash park, picnic shelters for rent, an outdoor amphitheater, and so much more, there is always something to do at the park. Whether you are an outdoor enthusiast or just looking for a place for a family fun day, Barboursville Park is Your Park.

You are close to lots of shopping too. In Milton, just east of Barboursville, there’s Blenko (glass blowing and sales), the largest flea market in WV, and a couple of antique stores. To the west, there are more antique stores in Huntington too. Check out my Guidebook for more info on things to do.

If you think you might like to become an Airbnb host, I’m happy to share my experiences with you and help you get started hosting. Just ask!

Guest access
The entire house and outside patio are provided for your enjoyment. You may park on the street, or pull in the driveway taking care not to block the public sidewalk. The yard is fenced. You will enter on the front porch using a keyless lock on the front door for self-check-in and have private access to the entire house. As you approach the front door through the gate, you will notice three steps leading to the front porch of this one-level home. Use caution when climbing the steps because they have settled over the years and are somewhat sloped. There is an iron handrail to assist your climb if needed.
