If you need a base of operations for an outdoorsy trip around Starved Rock, Matthiessen State Park, and the various rivers in the area, then this location is well worth the drive! Although we were about half an hour drive from most of our trip itenerary events, it felt great to come back to such a well-stocked, very nice, private home. We were pleasantly surprised by the extensive amenities provided to us with our stay. It was especially helpful that we did not have to buy or bring as much extra stuff to accommodate our trip needs as we would at a similar-priced hotel or cabin. Having access to a fully stocked kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room was GREAT. There was a very small bug problem, which was fully understandable with it being a transition in seasons. The water takes a while to heat up in the showers too. Aside from these small hiccups, the stay was perfect, and we especially enjoyed the fire pit and free access to firewood. Sarah knocked it out of the park for us!

The house exceeded our expectations! Very clean, well stocked and comfortable. Megan was very easy to communicate with and responded promptly to any questions. The house was very convenient for us because we had relatives in the immediate area. We would highly recommend this house to anyone who needs to find a place to stay in this area. We would definitely without hesitation book this house again!
