Absolutely fabulous stay with my partner and our 15 month old! Beautiful views surrounding the cabin just shame about the weather but still lots to do in nearby towns even though it rained. Our daughter loved the sheep right on our doorstep as well as the lovely walks around the farm. Thank you to Wendy for our amazing stay

We really liked the the cottage, clean, cosy and everything in it thoughtfully selected for the comfort of the guests. Conveniently located and liked the SUV charger located so near. Enjoyed the garden and peaceful neighbourhood just as the cottage. The host was easily available, friendly and caring

I loved the history of the house! Am from Australia, so don't get that experience at home. was only there for 2 nights, took a trip on Lake Windemere, sat on the steps in front of the fountain at Orton Hall 2nd evening, listened to some classical cello, drank a glass of red (big one), watched the rabbits & really enjoyed my walk around the grounds the next morning. I'd stay again. It was an experience, not just accommodation.

This is a perfect base for exploring the Lake district for a couple of days. A real "home away from home" feeling whilst also feeling like you're in the middle of nowhere. The area is peaceful and even as close as a 5 minute walk away, the surroundings are stunning. Claire and Dave are friendly, approachable and welcoming hosts, even preparing a couple of scones on arrival (which I scoffed immediately after a day in the mountains).
