Bronte Ocean Garden Unique Escape

RolandRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Perfect vacation home: We stayed at Josephine's house for 4 weeks and loved every single day of it. The location of the house in Bronte at the coastal walk is perfect. It's a 2 minutes walk to Bronte beach and a 20 minutes walk to Bondi and Coogee beach. The bus stop to downtown via Bondi junction is 1 minute in front of the house, restaurants and grocery shopping are close by. Didn't miss our car at all, we loved using public transport. The house itself is amazing. We saw the sunrise from our bedroom over the ocean, the view is spectular. We loved the birds in the backyard and the botanical garden in front of the house on the way to the street. Josephine is such a loving and caring host. We loved her warm welcoming us after our long trip from Europe with fresh bread, apples, fruit jam, delicious coffee and rose wine. She really cared and attendend to our needs. We very much wish to return. Dear Josephine, thank you so much for making our stay in Sydney unforgettable.

Beach View Curl Curl - House with Pool & Views

LisaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a wonderful stay! 10 days at this beautiful beachside home was so memorable and exactly what we needed to feel like we were away from it all. We are very familiar to the area, so staying somewhere in Curl Curl at a property that was tucked away as to be quiet but close enough to walk everywhere, with beautiful views and the sound of the ocean was more than we could have asked for! Emily is a great host, responsive, helpful and her home is exactly as described. We loved our stay and will be back! Highly recommend this property!

Beachside Apartment - Centre of Manly

AndreaRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
We absolutely loved the central location of this apartment. It is light and airy, well equipped and just as pictured. Elisabeth was a wonderful host who always replied quickly to our questions and did her best to allow for an early check-in as our flight from Austria arrived very early in the morning. If you are sensitive to noise, you might want to think twice about renting this apartment though. Garbage disposal and other trucks can be heard, even with windows closed, as early as 5 am. Add to this the fact that the next-door neighbour seems to be talking on the phone loudly at all times of day and night and on Friday and Saturday nights street noise can get quite loud. If you're not a sound sleeper, this might be somewhat challenging. All in all, a perfect place to stay centrally in Manly when you have no problem with noise.

Our stay at Bulga Amaroo was exceptional. The welcome note added such a personal touch, and the thoughtfully prepared bath kits made the experience even more special. The fridge was impressively stocked, and the kitchen had everything we needed, making meal prep a breeze. The welcome bottle of wine was such a thoughtful gesture after a long drive. After days spent hiking in the Blue Mountains, it was pure joy to return to this peaceful retreat. Every detail has been so well considered, and we can’t wait to come back!

Luxury harbourside living with rich historic charm

ErikaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This historic home was perfect for our 8 day stay in Sydney with 8 adults - ages 20 to 68. Each couple or guest had their own bedroom, which provided comfortable private space to chill and retreat from the group. The kitchen was stocked with all that we needed for our daily breakfasts and occasional lunches and dinners. We loved the garden and the front and back balconies with great views of the City and the Opera House. The location is perfect as it is pretty much in the center of Sydney. We could walk to many locations and get on the light rail at Circular Quay. There is also much to do in the neighborhood - Observatory, park under the bridge, Sat and Sun market at The Rocks, shops and restaurants. We had a great stay in this dream home.

Your guide to Sydney

Welcome to Sydney

Booming Sydney, the biggest and oldest city in Australia, is a stunning, sprawling metropolis. The global city is a buzzing economic, cultural, and culinary hub with architecture mixing classical, Gothic, and modern styles. Visitors to this storied port are welcomed visually by two iconic landmarks: the grand Sydney Opera House, with its high-flying sails that jut into the sky, set against the dramatic arch of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Beyond its urban appeal, Sydney is networked with expansive parks, gardens, and hiking trails. Pack a beach bag and follow the crowds to beautiful Bondi Beach, where Sydneysiders (as locals are called) stroll on the sand and surf the deep blue waters year round. This is a place where urban sophistication and casual fun coexist naturally: You may even find yourself at a five-star restaurant with a bit of beach sand on your heel.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Sydney

Thanks to Sydney’s waterfront locale, it experiences fairly mild temperatures year round. Summers (December through February) are sunny and warm. Expect crowds during this time, especially on the beaches. Summer is also high time for festivals. The Sydney Festival, a citywide arts celebration, takes place in January. New Year’s Eve’s epic fireworks celebration above the Sydney Opera House draws throngs of onlookers, and is followed by the city’s premier music event, Field Day Music Festival, the next day. Temperatures and crowds dip in fall, and winter brings the city’s coolest temperatures and rain. Spring may be the perfect shoulder month to book an apartment for rent, as the temperatures rise while humidity remains low.

Top things to do in Sydney

Royal Botanic Garden

Established in 1816, this waterfront park is home to native and global flora. Wander the Australian Rainforest Garden to see rare palm trees, ferns, and orchids or explore the Calyx, a grand glass complex with a massive living wall. The garden is also home to the city’s largest colony of flying foxes — large, googly-eyed bats who fly around the park dining on fruit.

Art Gallery of NSW

One of Australia’s finest art collections is housed in a 19th-century building designed to resemble a classical temple of art. There are rich assemblages of Aboriginal and contemporary art alongside paintings by European masters. The gallery hosts exciting traveling exhibitions throughout the year, as well as talks and performances. Best of all, admission to the gallery and most of its exhibitions is free.

Cockatoo Island

Explore Australia’s complicated history as a penal colony at this UNESCO World Heritage site, accessible via a short ferry ride. Those sentenced endured harsh conditions on the island, which began operating as a prison in 1839. Later, it was an important naval and shipping dock. Today Cockatoo Island is a historical site that’s also been reimagined as an arts destination, with three distinct events venues; it hosted the Biennale of Sydney in 2020.
