Cozy house in Vila Valqueire

GislaineRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
we had already been there 1 time, with the whole family, to solve a mass of a death of a family member and had already been great. Now only my parents went to solve bureaucratic problems in the city and simply loved, felt at home, didn't even want to leave RS, went hiking, they liked the nearby area, the variety of trade, banks, markets, etc. Ana Paula helped them with the TV and with everything they needed, they will be more often if you need it. CASA DO RECREIO - A private and cozy atmosphere

AndrezaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
I've been to Rio de Janeiro more than 20 times. I've stayed in several Airbnb houses and apartments, but this one was definitely one of the most amazing so far. The house is very well maintained, you can see in every detail the affection that the owner has for the house. The house is well-equipped, it has all possible utensils. The kitchen is large and had everything we needed to prepare our meals. The rooms are air-conditioned and the beds are extremely comfortable. The house is practically on the beach street and is in a very quiet neighborhood. I hope that all guests take great care of the house, as the owners do and as we did during our stay. Anyway, we loved it and intend to return other times.

Beautiful cozy house Piratininga-Niterói

FranRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Highly satisfactory stay. Well-built house, beautifully decorated and well located, on a street with buildings of great standard. The nearby beaches are very good and the neighborhood is very quiet and quiet. The space at the back of the house, which includes a swimming pool and barbecue, is grandly pleasant and familiar. Anyway, we spent a memorable week.

Cozy apartment near the beach/Recreio shopping mall

DanielRating, 5 stars1 week ago
My experience was excellent! We stayed at Januário and Lívia's place during an event in Rio Centro and everything was great. The location is excellent, very close to the convention center, which made our commute much easier. There were five of us and everyone felt very welcome. Livia was extremely attentive from the time of booking until the end of the stay, always available for any adjustments or questions. The place is well structured and very functional. Another positive point is the practicality... There is a market right next door, with great prices, and two excellent restaurants right in front... Mineiro and Santos, with tasty food, fair prices and impeccable service. We strongly recommend it for anyone going to events or even sightseeing. It was a comfortable, safe stay with great hosts. Thanks for the welcome!

Apartment on Ipanema Beach

AndréRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
My stay in this apartment in Ipanema was just fantastic! From the time of booking to check out, everything was impeccable. Communication with the host was quick and efficient, providing all the necessary information and always proving available for any questions. The apartment itself is a charm. Decorated with great taste, it is extremely comfortable, clean and well equipped. I found everything I needed for a perfect stay, from full kitchen utensils to excellent quality bed and bath linens. The internet worked perfectly for my entire stay. However, the great highlight of this apartment is undoubtedly the view to Christ the Redeemer. Waking up every morning and having a coffee with that iconic image in the background was simply magical. The pictures do not live up to the beauty of the landscape, which becomes even more special at dusk.

Apartment in front of the Leblon subway station

Stefanie LauraRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We love Anna's apartment! The location is perfect, close to everything, restaurants, cafes, pharmacies, etc… It is also very close to the beach, we did practically everything on foot, including going to Dias Ferreira Street (famous street of the bars/Belmonte). The apartment was very clean and fragrant and is also super equipped. Anna was very helpful with everything I needed. I recommend with my eyes closed and I will definitely return!

Flat Mar e Sol - Recreation

BeatrizRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Communication and flexibility were essential for a good stay. We really liked the house, however, some points left something to be desired, such as cleaning the stove and more kitchen utensils (the cutlery is counted). However, I recommend it without a doubt because the location is good and the house, although small, is cozy! Mari and Matheus are exceptional hosts 🫶

Cozy Gigoia Island

TaliRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The super neat and clean house. The Island is where I like to sleep there in Rio when I go to work because it is an absolute silence! The super-equipped kitchen and, even though it is on the other side of the island, it does not take 5 min until the main pier walking Niva was very kind, I went to Rio for work, I had a long meeting and it took me to check in, but it helped me a lot! Very comfortable bed and well airy house! I'll come back more often!

Casa Amora - Your Private "Mini Resort" on the Lagoon Edge

NicholasRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This place is an absolute gem – a stunning house located right in the heart of the lagoon in Barra da Tijuca. Surrounded by water and nature, it feels like you're living in a scene straight out of a movie. The setting is peaceful and romantic, yet just a short boat taxi ride away from great local restaurants and the energy of Rio. The house itself is beautifully designed and incredibly comfortable. It has all the amenities you could wish for: a cozy kitchen, well-equipped bedrooms, and excellent lighting throughout. The outdoor area is perfect for relaxing evenings with friends or family, and the heated outdoor bathtub quickly became one of our favorite features. The large plasma TV with amazing picture quality added an extra layer of comfort for winding down at night. Whether you're a couple looking for a romantic getaway or a family seeking a unique and tranquil stay in Rio, this home is the perfect escape. It offers a rare combination of serenity, beauty, and comfort.

Beach house for up to 7 people in condominium

FláviaRating, 5 stars4 months ago
We were 8 friends and the house accommodated us very well for what we needed, the condominium is quiet and safe. It is a few meters from the beach, which has kiosks and huts, however, there are not many restaurant options nearby, but less than 10 minutes away you can go to Olégario Maciel, which has complete options of restaurants and bars. Carol was helpful and promptly met all our needs and answered all our questions.

Your guide to Rio de Janeiro

All About Rio de Janeiro

With its combination of shimmering white-sand beaches, breathtaking views, and cosmopolitan lifestyle, Rio de Janeiro is one of South America’s great metropolises. From landmark sites like the hilltop statue Christ the Redeemer to the lesser-known Escadaria Selarón, the Brazilian city lives up to its nickname, Cidade Maravilhosa (Marvelous City). Every February, Rio throws the world’s biggest street party, Carnival, a lively four-day celebration of beating drums, glittering costumes, and swaying hips.

Spend a day among the tanned bodies and gentle waves at Copacabana Beach, or explore the subtropical paradise of Parque Lage. Outdoor activity comes in all forms here, whether it’s hiking in the Tijuca rainforest, cycling alongside lakes and beaches, sailing across Baía de Guanabara, surfing, rock climbing, or hang gliding. And when you’re ready to get out of the sun, Rio’s cultural attractions have plenty to offer, including world-class museums, a diverse mix of architectural styles, craft markets, high-end fashion boutiques, and enough samba and choro music to keep you dancing until the sun comes up.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Rio de Janeiro

Summer, from December through March, is a popular time to visit, when the city is at its most festive. Carnival brings revelers into the city in February — the hottest month of the year. Spring (September through November) is also a good option, when the weather is still warm and there’s little rain. July is Rio’s coolest month, with an average high of 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Other major events in the city include the Festas Juninas, the traditional festivities adapted from European Midsummer that happen at the beginning of the Brazilian winter in June, celebrating the most famous Catholic saints. Festival de Rio brings the year’s best international films to the city in November, and Réveillon is a lively way to ring in the new year with fireworks and dancing.

Top things to do in Rio de Janeiro

Corcovado mountain

Take the cable car up to Corcovado mountain to The Christ the Redeemer statue — one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Once you arrive at the foot of the statue, gaze down at the city and take in the neighborhoods that make up the Zona Sul and out to Guanabara Bay. Try to go early and choose a day with clear weather.

Escadaria Selarón

These colorful 215 steps reside in Rio’s Lapa neighborhood. In 1990, an artist started decorating the staircase outside his home using scavenged tiles. In the years since, it has grown to over 2,000 tiles. While in Lapa, you can also explore hip coffee shops, thrift stores, and lively nightclubs.

Grumari Beach

Head where the locals go on the western shore of Rio. Although it’s about an hour’s drive, Grumari is what some call the city’s most secret beach. The unspoiled nature reserve includes nearly two miles of white and red sand. You’ll want to bring your own food and drink, since there aren’t any restaurants or shops here.
