Samba night at Pedra do Sal
Pedra do Sal is one of the nicest spots in the area known as Little Africa. This cradle of Carioca samba has become a paradise for those who like to mix history with beer, youth, samba, and nightlife. All of this takes place in front of a large rock with a carved staircase, Pedra do Sal, a heritage listed in 1984. The staircase gives access to Morro da Conceição. This area of Porto Maravilha is called Little Africa because it was a point of sale and exchange for slaves and shelter for quilombos. There, the salt from the ships that docked in the port was unloaded, the origin of the meeting of dockers sambistas. We'll meet at a specific location near Pedra do Sal to have a moment of community and I'll take you to the heart of samba in Rio de Janeiro. Get ready to explore some live samba music, get tips about street food and drinks, and meet genuine local people. You will get to know about the history of this place and why the whole samba culture is so important for us Cariocas. Join me in this local experience to feel immersed in this samba party night!

Favela Walking Tour
***OUR TOUR IS IMPACTFUL*** We fund various social projects + give back to the Favela! Ask the other tour agencies if they do this. Short answer is "no". So DONT book these types of tours!! Vidigal - Known for its culture in art, funk, and film, it has become an iconic place in Cidade Maravilhosa. Starting with an exciting **MOTO TAXI** ride up the Favela. From here, we visit the ecological park, an oasis within the Favela. Built mainly from recycled materials with some truly special views of the south zone! Afterwards, we will go throughout the alleys of (25/14) called "Becos," where you will walk the surrounding areas home to a majority of locals. Meet and converse with residents and have the chance to better understand their lifestyle and the Favela. This part is extremely important and humbling as it's something you couldn't do without a guide. People who usually visit the Favela just come for views and the clubs at the top. (even with a guide). The clubs are EXPENSIVE and INACCESSIBLE for those who live here. So why even visit these places? Many residents work hard on the beaches and streets. Cleaning the city and recycling. In restaurants as cooks and bartenders. Even drivers and couriers. Furthermore, a lot of culture, i.e., Sambas and choreography of funk to a lot of Art and Food are from the communities of Rio! (ALL guides local from the community)
