Wonderful weekend away with varied sauna, swimming pool, and nice on the sofa. Although October and pool was fresh, it didn't stop us from using this. Jannine always answered super fast and friendly. Nice place to relax and unwind

The two of us felt very comfortable in the small house. You can see through the large windows directly into the impressive dune landscape. That alone has made us feel very relaxed. In the kitchen, everything is there to cook deliciously if you don't want to eat out. The contact with Geertje was uncomplicated - in the end, everything was so clearly arranged beforehand that we did not have to coordinate further during the stay and was simply a vacation. We will be happy to come back :-)

I stayed with 4 friends for a few days at Gerdi's cottage. We loved the cottage. The spaces are nicely laid out, the kitchen is complete and the beds soft. Communication with Gerdi was also pleasant. She responds quickly and kindly.

Great cottage with all the amenities you need. Everything was clean and tidy. The area is very quiet and beautiful to relax from everyday life.

Very good contact with the hosts before our vacation, there were no more questions left for the vacation and the contact during the vacation was not necessary. The house is on the edge of a holiday park. Really very quiet with a view of the countryside. The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything you need. The rest of the house is also very well equipped and tastefully decorated The pictures and description of the cottage as well as the garden correspond to reality. We only felt the staircase to the upper floor was quite steep. Upon arrival, there was a bottle of red wine for us as a warm welcome. Thank you Ruud and Gea for letting us be your guests.

Lovely peaceful location with great garden for children. Very responsive host. Only thing to mention is bring mosquito spray

Last weekend I had an unforgettable stay with friends in a beautiful house surrounded by nature. The house was spacious and comfortable, ideal for our group. The area offered plenty of opportunities for relaxation and adventure, with beautiful walks and a visit to a charming village. It was a perfect weekend to enjoy and recharge together, and we look forward to coming back again.

The place was super nice, clean and lovingly and modernly furnished. There were 4 of us with 2 children. Everyone felt mega comfortable. Like at home. We will be happy to come back.

Lovely spacious place in a beautiful green quiet area. Nice hiking/running and good base for visiting Bolsward, Sneek, and Franeker (and the Planetarium) where there is a lot to do. Ellen was very nice and communication went very smoothly, definitely a place to recommend!

Here you will completely relax! We stayed here for 4 days with our family with 2 children. The cottage is equipped with every comfort and the surroundings are wonderfully quiet. We had booked this because we wanted to get away from the busy city and are busy. So if you are looking for a place where you don't need anything and you want to recover from a busy existence, this is the ideal place! The people we came across in the village are all equally friendly and helpful. Mandy the host neatly communicated the rules of the house to us in advance and kindly respond to all your questions.

A beautiful house in amazing surroundings, a must stay if your in Makkum. Highly recommended.

The house was even more beautiful & lovingly decorated than the pictures show it. Heating worked well, bed linen & towels were provided & with the dishes you could have provided an extended family. Everything is great, recommend! PS: For the elderly, the steep stairs could be a bit difficult. Thank you for the great time in your beautiful cottage 🙏

Stayed for two months Felt like a home It has everything you can think of and more It looks like the location is nowhere but when you get you see it's really close to transport and really close to leeuwarden (which is a big city) Do know that the church bell is going every half hour (including at night) So get some ear plugs But other than that it is a perfect place

What a wonderful week we had with a total of 6 adults and two dogs. A super cozy and lovingly furnished cottage, enough space for everything and everyone, everything equally comfortable. A special place, the fabulous weather also cooperated, but even in less good weather this would have been wonderful and cozy. Lots to do, both in Moddergat itself and in the area, and then you don't have to drive far - both Dokkum and the Lauwersmeer area are great. Tip: go sailing with the men of the ZK9 (leave from Lauwersoog). And what a paradise for the dogs and for birdwatchers!! We'd love to come back. Thank you Gwen and Marieke that we were also allowed to be guests in your uniquely beautiful cottage!

It was a perfect stay. The house was clean and cozy and had everything you could ever need. Also the host was more than friendly and always responded immediately. The sauna and trampoline were the cherry on top, we‘ll definitely come back!

We were very warmly welcomed by Marianne, and our two dogs were also allowed to enjoy a few treats directly. Marianne was also immediately on hand when we had more questions later on. Our teenagers had their own empire upstairs and felt very comfortable there, while we adults could enjoy the beautiful decor and wide view over the fields downstairs. We spent cozy game evenings at the large and cozy dining table. The kitchen is fully equipped and leaves nothing to be desired. We loved it so much that we would definitely like to come back.

Had a wonderful stay! Nice space, lovely beds, comfortable house: lovely beds, in the kitchen everything you need, spacious outdoor space... Great that you can walk directly into the dune area towards the sea, and discover the whole island by bike. We enjoyed it!

Very nice house with good beds, complete kitchen, nicely decorated, and in a nice quiet area.

Super nice! Ideal area in a cozy village. The call bus from Dokkum is also very nice for if you don't have a car. Owner is communicative should you have any questions or can't find something. Should you get cold, there are enough blankets throughout the house to endure a Russian winter. Wonderful!

A great cottage! Even more cozy in real life than you can see in the photos. Great size for 4 people. Everything super clean, modern and well prepared for a relaxing weekend. The oven and hot tub were ready for use. The house is in the second row and you are completely on your own. We will be happy to come back and will definitely recommend it!
