Cabin vacation rentals in Friesland

Jan provided us with a more spacious cabin that suited our needs (small camping bed for baby). The cabin had just been renovated, everything was new and clean. That's very kind of him. We were located on the edge of a lake overlooking the countryside (cows) it was very peaceful. Also there were campfires and there is enough to entertain young and old. I recommend it!

If you want to stay overnight in the Plattenland, this is absolutely recommended. The description already indicated that it is “back to the basics” staying overnight, so you should definitely take that into account. The chalets are simple but cozy, with a kitchenette, water heater with tap water and heating for a pleasant temperature. The plumbing is in a shared space, and while it is not luxurious, everything is functional with simple showers and toilets. The absolute highlight? Each chalet has its own jacuzzi with views over the country. You can also make your own campfire, although you have to arrange wood yourself. The only thing to take into account is that the chalets are next to each other and the path to the shared sanitary facilities runs along the chalets. So there is no complete privacy and tranquility. But that doesn't take away from this great experience of staying “on the farm”, where you wake up in the morning with a view over the countryside and the day starts in your own jacuzzi

What a lovely cottage!! We loved the tranquility and the hottub..the cottage and garden offer lots of privacy! Sjoukje responds quickly if anything is needed. And what a service that the hot tub is already warm when you arrive!

We had a lovely stay at Effeniks's! In retrospect, we secretly regret that we hadn't booked much longer. The hot tub with large wide views, exactly where the sun goes down, is wonderful. The cottage is beautiful, clean and equipped with every comfort. Really a place to relax and get out of the daily hustle and bustle.

Enchanting, charming accommodation for nature lovers! It was very nice - great construction trailer, nice outdoor area, everything idyllic, clean and beautiful! The children could run around and play with the cats. However, I could imagine sleeping with 4 people to be difficult, as the sofa is a bit wobbly. But for 2 + 1 (small) great.

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful house right on the waterfront! The property offers exceptional space and is superbly equipped – ideal for larger groups. We were received in a very friendly manner and immediately felt at home. Particularly practical was also the possibility to easily rent a boat right in front of the house. Our entire group was thrilled, and we'd love to come back. We can highly recommend this house to any group looking for plenty of space and comfort!

Martha's place is perfect for everyone who enjoys country side. It's a perfect mix of natural beauty and modern amenities. Apart from the place and amenities, Martha is very nice and welcoming person. Even though we arrived by the night, she stayed up to welcome and show us the place. On the next day, we could see her cattle and horses together with her. It was nice and refreshing experience. We would love to stay at her place again :)

We had a lovely time at Lydia’s. The cabin is decorated with so much love and one feels right at home The cabin is super clean, very well equipped and child friendly. Our 2-year old loved the toys and didn’t want to leave. The surrounding area is just as beautiful with beautiful forests, stunning meadows, quiet villages and lovely museums nearby. On top of that Lydia is a great host. She replies super fast and was always friendly and super helpful. One can truly feel how much she loves her holiday home and it was such a joy for us to stay at her place. We can highly recommend everything about our stay. It is perfect for a peaceful getaway to enjoy nature and some family time. Thank you for having us!

Nice cottage in the center of Gorredijk, all amenities in the immediate vicinity, yet quietly located. In addition, the cottage has a nice terrace/garden, where the afternoon sun can be enjoyed.

The chalet is in a stunning location, surrounded by nothing but fields. The chalet is well-equipped, just don't forget to take all the towels you need (including tea towels and hand towels). Annemarie was a wonderful host and took the time to talk to us around the farm. We can't wait to go back!

What a completely cozy cottage, there was even a first aid kit. Everything you need was there, from soap pump to coffee filters. We will definitely come back.

A very nice place in a small harbor but also quiet. Great if you want to recover. Cozy life around you without being bothered by it. The booth house is simple and yet everything you need is available. If you have any questions for Ineke, she always responds quickly. We liked that very much. A place to come back again.

Beautiful beautiful place with so much green! The veldhuisje was absolutely wonderful and super cozy. The animals are all super cute and the area is really gorgeous. Got good recommendations for place to eat and a nice hike close by and it was definitely worth it! Would book again!

It was a pleasure to enjoy Robert's chalet. Impeccable, modern and very well equipped! We were 4 people and we had a great time and it was never too small. Had a wonderful time in The Blue Cottage. Beautiful location, enjoyed the view and the lake. The cottage is small but nice and everything you can think of is present. It is beautiful to enjoy the outdoors on the spacious terrace. With outdoor shower. Ina is a welcoming, kind and caring host. Recommended this cottage!

A super nice cottage with everything you need on a beautiful campsite with lots of greenery and a swimming pool. We were able to borrow two great bikes cheaply directly on site. The windows at the cottage were equipped with mosquito nets. Jaap was super friendly and helpful. At Molkwerum, city not far away about 10 min by car you can go swimming in the sea. Have a nice time!

We (2 adults + a 10-year-old child) enjoyed the time very much and can very well imagine coming back. The landlady is very friendly and helpful. Everything in the house is as shown in the photos and described in the description. The terrace and the view of the pond, the meadow and the animals are very nice and invite you to relax. The sauna is also very nice, of course. In particular, in the evening and at night, it is very quiet. The price for the wood for the sauna (currently €15 per basket) is completely fine and a basket was enough for us for 3 days, but you could also buy more wood at short notice from the landlady. A supermarket and a fishing shop are nearby (2-3 minutes' walk). Other shops and restaurants are also a few minutes away. Parking is right in front of the property on the premises.

I had to spend the night somewhere in this neighborhood, and my eye fell on Yvon's gypsy wagon. Always fun to try a "slightly different than usual" place! Via AirBNB it is always a gamble if you let us know today that you want to stay somewhere tomorrow, but Yvon responded very quickly and also several times. A very friendly communication, adequate and exactly what I needed. I couldn't check in until late, but that wasn't a problem either. The mini campsite is a gem, I can't say it any other way! I was only there for a very short time and for a practical reason, but I definitely want to come back to try out all the amenities I don't have to use now, such as the outdoor kitchen and the living room. And the breakfast will also be fine! The gypsy wagon was clean, cozy, and smelled wonderful. The shower and toilet facilities are nice and close but not too close. And also of excellent quality. All in all an excellent stay.
