Between Land and Sea - The Opal Coast

ElienRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a wonderful stay in this rustic farm with 6 adults and 2 children. Perfect for relaxing in the greenery. Also a very good base for day trips to the coast. We have enjoyed it!
The château is framed by lush greenery and a tranquil water feature, showcasing elegant architectural details with its ornate façade and multiple towers. Surrounding gardens are meticulously landscaped, contributing to the serene setting of this historical property.

Gîte "des Ecuries" 8 pers au Château de Beaumesnil

florianRating, 5 stars22 months ago
Ideal stay for two families with children able to share bunk beds. No wifi, but we are not at Beaumesnil castle to spend your time on the web. The real interest of this cottage that remains expensive is the access to the castle park which is most of the time closed: a door to the cottage overlooks the interior of the castle, with an access in a huge garden full of farm animals, a paradise for kids, peacocking, geese, sheep, ducks, ducks, goats, pony. We were even able to visit the Chateau de Beaumesnil for free, the drawbridge was down. The heater works perfectly. Only Repproche: a corkscrew was missing… and that… would almost deserve a star less haha. Dear, but EXCELLENT VALUE for MONEY for families with children between 5-12 years old, especially to discover the countryside. Very proactive, nice hosts, hosting the castle in support. Super flexible check-in and checkout. (we left around 5pm) Congrats!!!
The charming exterior of the château is presented, featuring stone walls adorned with climbing ivy. Distinctive turret towers are visible on either side. A gravel pathway leads to the entrance, surrounded by lush greenery and a peaceful setting. Sunlight brightens the scene under a clear blue sky.

The cottage is part of the castle. The site is beautiful, very quiet with a huge park. Great for a large family.
An expansive green lawn frames the historical chateau and adjoining building, both surrounded by lush trees. The chateau features a distinct tower and classic architecture, while the barn showcases rustic charm, highlighting the peaceful countryside setting.

Chateau estate, 90 min from Paris, 16 people

ArnaudRating, 5 stars16 months ago
Perfect weekend with friends at the Miserai. The Chateau is very pleasant despite the weekend temperatures (-8 per night!). The hunting room was perfect for hosting the anniversary of the weekend! Celine recommended a good catering address to us and it was very convenient. The brewery on the estate is not to be missed.
The elegant Château de Tocqueville is reflected in a tranquil pond, surrounded by lush greenery and tall trees. The building's intricate architecture features multiple towers and stone facades, complemented by a clear blue sky overhead.

Chateau de Tocqueville, heritage to share

ZheRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Staying in Stephanie and her family’s Chateau de Tocqueville was absolutely a five star experience to us. We spent three night here in the castle but found it’s absolutely not enough to experience the property. We could utilize four floors with five stylish bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen and salon on the ground floor plus the pond, tennis court, biking area…and more. It’s a perfect place to spend a few days or weeks. We spent a few hours to read Alexi de Tocqueville’s books (but only finished one fifth of the book) in the place where he wrote the book, the feeling was so special and we felt like becoming the witness to the history.
The grand stone facade of the Castle is shown, emphasizing its historical architecture. Towering structures with battlement-style features are visible. The well-maintained lawn in the foreground is complemented by neatly trimmed bushes and the stairs leading to the entrance.

Acton Castle, Breathtaking Clifftop Views

MichaelRating, 5 stars96 months ago
Due to the fantastic photos on Airbnb our expectations were already high, but reality by far exceeded all our expectations. We really spent a perfect week in the wonderful Garden Apartment in Acton Castle. Maybe the most impressive is the incredible view over the bay of Penzance with the spectacular St. Michael's Mount as its central point. You can enjoy this fantastic view from the living room, from the breakfast table or even when doing the dishes in the kitchen. Another highlight is the garden which is really beautiful with a nice pond, wonderful plants and flowers and many great places to sit and enjoy the view. Also the 18th century Acton Castle is a very beautiful and really impressive building. The apartment is ideal for a family like ours with 2 children. The main sleeping room has its own bathroom with toilet and shower. The main bathroom has a bathing tub with shower and another toilet. The appartment has two floors. Sleeping rooms and bathrooms are in the basement, while living room and kitchen are in the first floor with its incredible view. The appartment offers a lot of space for a family of four and we weren't missing anything. You reach the costal path within two minutes from the garden. We did a very nice walk to St. Michael's Mount. Acton Castle is also a good starting point for many activities in the area. You can easily reach Penzance, St. Ives, the Lizard Peninsula and many, many more great places by car. There are several big supermarkets in the direction towards Penzance which you can reach within 10 minutes by car. Garden Apartment in Acton Castle is a really perfect place to spend a perfect holiday and we definitely give a 5 star recommendation. Thanks to Tim for giving us the possibility to enjoy this great place and the area around it.
The charming Chateau, built in 1751, features a grand façade with numerous windows and a central balcony. Lush greenery surrounds the property, with well-maintained gardens in the foreground and trees providing a natural backdrop, enhancing its historic appeal.

Château Le Mont Epinguet 7 bedrooms Sleeps 15

SophieRating, 5 stars25 months ago
Our stay at Chateau Le Mont Epinguet surpassed all of our expectations-- it's truly beautiful and Fiona and Mark are beyond friendly. We went as a group of 18 and still found the house incredibly spacious-- you'll never be on top of one another! The gardens outside are lovely and provide lots of spots for sunbathing/reading (and so spacious we even got in a game of rounders). The kitchen has as much crockery as you might ever desire; there are several excellent and large supermarkets within a 15 minute drive (better quality produce and more economical than any British supermarket). Above all-- I cannot express the warmth and kindness of Mark and Fiona-- they're exceptional hosts who attended to any queries we had and provided a wealth of excellent beach & restaurant recommendations. A beautiful chateau, a wonderful (eccentric) interior, with lovely gardens (esp. the palm trees), and great for friends who wish to spend some time stuck together.

16th century Manor / Mont Saint Michel's Bay

PolonaRating, 5 stars12 months ago
The chateau was everything we thought it would be from the moment we drove through the gate. The serene setting was welcoming and inviting. The gardens and landscaping were lush and picturesque. Upon entering the front door, we felt like we’d been transported to the 16th century. Wood floors, flowing draperies and richly colored walls all add to the general ambiance. There are numerous bedrooms from which to choose, playrooms for children, spacious living and dining rooms and a kitchen meant for gathering. The kitchen is well stocked and the fireplace warms the rooms and its inhabitants. The two outdoor tables provide opportunities to enjoy the setting while sipping wine or eating a meal, Marc was very accommodating. He offered suggestion for things to do and places to shop in Sartilly.

Excellent stay certainly only one night but an extremely responsive host. The listing was as described. We forgot a suitcase and products in the fridge forcing us to come back 2 times to our host who, each time, was lovely. We would highly recommend this very large apartment for large tribes!! Hugues

Seacombe, Luxury 4 bed cottage near Corfe Castle

AnneRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
The house is very attractive, with modern, tasteful furnishings, a well appointed kitchen and utility and a pretty garden. The staircase is quite steep, but our three year old toddler managed it safely. Although the house is on the High Street, there is minimal traffic noise. The garden is sunny and full of comfy garden furniture. It is enclosed, so safe for dogs and children. Nothing to find fault with apart from the directions offered at the start. It is in fact opposite the pub - Kings Arms. Not opposite a post office, which does not exist !

Family manor in the Vexin, 1 hour from Paris.

PabloRating, 5 stars33 months ago
The property was absolutly wonderful, the photos don’t do it justice! I particularly appreciated the garden with its beautiful array of trees and patches of forest. The estate was so vast I dont think we made it to the edge. The house was extremly private and out of sight of any neighbours. The house itself was spacious and comfortable, so were the beds. I was working online and the internet connection was good, even with multiple connections, with a very nice dedicated workspace. The kitchen had every appliance imaginable, with enough crockery for a banquet! While I was there the trees were ripe with fruit and we were treated to pears, apples, rasberries, blackberries, stawberries, grapes and more. The chickens generously provided us with fresh eggs every morning and the peacocks were not only beautiful to watch but also friendly. Not to talk about the wild forna including squirels, pheasents, woodpekers and other small birds… It was a pleasure meeting Philippe who not was an excellent host; showing us around the property and being helpful with our questions, but also an excellent cook, perparing traditional french food for us per our request. He was fun to be around. Overall a great experience, we are already planning when we can visit again!

A Château for the price of a House 6 bedrooms/13 people + (opt 4 bedrooms)

TomRating, 5 stars3 months ago
“Firstly, Xavier was the consummate host - communicative, helpful, and friendly. When two of our guests weren’t feeling well, he was especially attentive and considerate, offering assistance with great care. The property and our stay were wonderful. The castle is just as described, if not better - it feels both cozy and expansive at the same time. It is warm and welcoming, and the surrounding village is charming. Plus, there are plenty of unique sites and places to explore within a 15–20 minute drive. For a relaxing and special experience, Xavier’s place was perfect.”

What a wonderful and underrated spot. Firstly, Wilfrid was an amazing host. Always available, very attentive, and Gallic hospitality at its best. He was extremely flexible in all aspects (from check-in, use of spa, and time to eat breakfast). We mistakenly slept in one morning and we were able to eat a proper breakfast at 1130. Extremely clean and a serene environment. A very immersive Normandy experience. The house is very old but fully renovated as it is a passion project for Wilfrid who has spent generations in the house.

La Demeure du Domaine de Tertu - 12 people

VinorthRating, 5 stars1 month ago
🌟 5/5 - A perfect weekend in an exceptional place! We had an absolutely great weekend at this beautiful Airbnb. The accommodation is spacious, very well decorated and perfectly equipped. The pool was a real treat, especially with the beautiful weather we had, and the barbecue area contributed greatly to the friendly atmosphere of our stay. Small downside: the road to access the accommodation was not easy to find at first, and a light bulb and a showerhead were no longer working when we arrived. Fortunately, the concierge was very responsive, available and super flexible — everything was resolved quickly! The cleanliness was good, and communication with the hosts was smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. A big thank you again for this beautiful break. We'll be happy to go back!
