Koorayn is a 15 acre property located 3.1km (or a 4min drive) from Dunkeld, the ”Gateway to the Grampians". The house has a retro and individualized charm. This is the perfect place for you to enjoy the calming landscape and abundant wildlife. The living area and bedroom have generous windows facing the mountains with ample opportunities to watch grazing kangaroos and birds. The deck is equipped with a BBQ and outdoor furniture, facing the stunning Grampians. Hope to see you there. Claudia
“Claudia's home is the best Airbnb ever. The wildlife and setting is amazing. Claudia provides breakfast food and drinks and the amenities are top notch. The home is clean, comfortable, spacious yet cozy. It was so nice to have both a washer and dryer as well as a clothes line. The kitchen is very well equipped, also. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.”
The cottage is light and airy with full picture windows facing the mountains, this includes the main bedroom. A deck also allows outdoor access of the same views. It is fully self contained and you do not have to share any part of it with others not in your group.
“Just fantastic. Great location if you’re visiting Dunkeld or the Royal Mail Hotel/Wickens (1.5-2km walk but they actually drove us home after dinner anyway). The cottage is lovely and has all you could need, but the view is just insane. Every morning was coffee on the deck looking at the most amazing view of Mt Sturgeon and Mt Abrupt (best view in Dunkeld), and watching the kangaroos and parrots. Perfect. Heather is amazing too - so quick to respond and so helpful!!”
A nostalgic outpost at the southern gateway to Victoria's glorious Grampians mountain wilderness, Salt Creek Cottage is nestled in the heart of the historic township of Dunkeld, a gentle walk from the main street, shops, cafe's and the iconic Royal Mail Hotel. Our charismatic colonial-style cottage fondly known as 'Salty', is the perfect base camp for the epic walks of the Grampians National Park, her moody interior sets the scene for the perfect intimate getaway or unforgettable location shoot.
“Everything about Salt Creek Cottage exceeded our expectations, from the warm, cosy, welcoming and exquisitely appointed interiors, to the many thoughtful touches such as a lovely bottle of wine and Grampians Goods Co aromatherapy candles, which created an immediate ambience and uplifting of spirits from our first step inside the cottage. We wanted for nothing during our stay. Even the provisions supplied for breakfast spoke to the very essence of country hospitality, and after some long walks in The Grampians we really appreciated the free-range eggs, sourdough bread, and rhubarb jams each morning. Underfloor heating, a lovely deep bath and spacious shower, Grampians goods Co bath and hair products, and a much-needed bottle of magnesium salts to soothe aching limbs really made the bathroom a place of refuge and recovery. We cannot recommend Salt Creek Cottage highly enough. We have always loved visiting The Grampians, and the cottage's location in Dunkeld made it a perfect base to further explore and steep ourselves in the natural world. We fully intend to return.”
