Monthly Rentals in Departure Bay

The neighborhood is a gem, the views driving in are beautiful. The house has the nicest driveway and front yard. Very well designed. The private front porch of the airbnb is very relaxing and perfect for a morning workout. The inside is super bright and simple, looks newly renovated. There’s lots of a thoughtful touches all over, showing they actually thought about the little things that people visiting would want. There’s also a walk down the street to water access, then a trail with a waterfall! Host is super sweet. They also have rabbits in the backyard and the coolest dog house lol. All in all was a great stay for a Mother’s Day gift visiting the island.

Kari and Ed were very responsive and friendly hosts. The suite was as described and we felt so at home. There were clear instructions in the suite and everything worked. When Nanaimo had strong winds and power went off, they were so kind to give us a torch and lantern which helped us not to stay in darkness. Kari and Ed were very tolerant of our young family (infant and toddler) who were sometimes up late at night. Kari also provided toys for our toddler and trust me when I say these were very helpful in keeping our toddler busy and not bored. Thanks Kari and Ed for sharing your space with us. Would highly recommend this suite.

This was my first stay in Nanaimo and on Vancouver Island and I couldn't have asked for more. The location is perfect for someone wanting a place a little outside the center of town and with minutes' access to a vast trail system. Westwood Lake and its trail system are a five-minute walk or run from the home. The back yard is huge and open and offers views across the Strait, with enormous Douglas Firs on the property and surroundings. The dog and goat are super friendly and will offer as much companionship as you want. The owners gave us all the privacy we needed, but were very responsive whenever we had questions. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and would stay here again whenever I return.
