Come here relaxed with your sweetheart, away from the hustle and bustle, you will find peace and quiet here and you will wake up to the girls, blackbirds and sparrows.(sometimes Sunday of the church bells). Bij koude nachten kruip je naast de warme, wollen kruiken van Van Buuren.

You can see many wild animals such as hares, birds, swallows, deer, marters, but also our own sheep, pigs, chickens, rabbits and dog. With a 10 minute bike ride you are in the center of Heerenveen, the forests of the Oranjewoud, sail on the Tjeukemeer.

These new (2023) thatched villas of Wetterhaghe have a beautiful unobstructed view over the Poelen, the Weisleat, in the middle of the Frisian lakes area. The sustainable villas have their own jetty with possibly a beautiful 8-person electrosloep! The sloop is available between April 1 and November 1. Just sail to the village for a drink or in the morning to the bakery for fresh sandwiches. But also a day trip over the Frisian lakes is a quiet sensation!
