Monthly Rentals in Cruwys Morchard

Gail made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Charming country barn meets elegance; the barn conversion is so sweet and quaint whilst also having a generous amount of space to relax into. We had a wedding nearby - the space was excellent for the added attire we had brought with us. The kitchen was perfect with everything we needed, the lounge, also extremely comfortable with a rustic gas fireplace to enjoy in the evenings. The separate bedroom and king size bed was a dream! it was such a relaxing space with a private outside area and endless views of the country side. The information Gail had in the barn was really helpful and easy to digest. One of our favourite aspects was having Flora and Dolly (two beautiful black Labradors) greet us as we came and went, they were so sweet, silly and gentle. We also made use of the tennis court on site which was an added bonus with Flora and Dolly on duty to catch any balls that strayed over the fence. We had an amazing holiday!

A wonderful, quiet retreat for the weekend. Good location to nearby places eg Tiverton Canal, Knightshayes (National Trust). A nice surprise of scones on arrival. Would recommend.

My second stay. Love the spectacular view of open field from big windows and doorstep. This time, able to see trains passing across the field: last August, corns grew so tall that they blocked sights of trains - literally lived within “corn wall”, not a bad experience though. Cabin is cosy, compact, very clean and comfortable. Good storage space, kitchen very functional. Buses* to city centre come only sparingly on Sunday, not a problem to me, just need to work around their time table. *return bus fare to Exeter city centre slightly above 4GBP per day as of May 2025. If one fancy eating in proximity - the only pub in the village, run by friendly volunteers, currently opens Wednesday to Sunday. Finally, as mentioned in Jayne’s introduction of the place: wifi isn’t great here - that’s very true :)

If you’re looking for a peaceful escape, this is the place! The space makes for a great luxury upgrade from a Shepard’s hut if you’re looking for more indoor space but still wanting to feel truly in nature. Full of home comforts and beautiful finishing touches, highly recommend :)
