Moss Cottage can be your getaway only 45 minutes from Halifax and a few kilometers from the village of Chester on Nova Scotia's beautiful south shore. It's your choice to take in the many local sights, shop in towns and villages that dot the coastline, sail, play golf or stretch out on any number of beaches -- all within easy driving. Or, perhaps you'd prefer to stay put at Moss Cottage for a lovely chance at solitude and a dip in our crystal clear lake.
“Moss Cottage was the perfect weekend getaway for my husband and I. The cottage was so cozy it felt like home and the lake was the warmest lake in Nova Scotia I’ve ever been in! It was really peaceful and relaxing to sit on the floating dock or massive deck and look up at the tree canopy.”
A very cozy and peaceful place to base any vacation on the South Shore out of. Very close to hiking and ATV trails. No visible neighbors from the yard, lots of wildlife. Large parking areas. Interior is a mixture of new and re purposed materials. Appliances are small but functional, all the comforts of home but smaller. Double bed is incredibly comfortable. The building is compact but well laid out for function. It's my favorite place to be.
“If you are looking for a peaceful retreat this is your place! Michelle's little cottage is private and quiet. We had our dogs there and they had lots of space to run and play. Her location its perfectly located to chester and mahone bay for little day trips. We were there in the spring but I can imagine it would be a perfect spot for a summer trip!”
Simple, peaceful, perfect getaway. Driftwood cottage is nestled in beautiful Northwest Cove, your own private peace of heaven. Available for your vacational needs whether a romantic retreat or a relaxing place to hang out in-between day trips. Enjoy the sunny deck or make your way to one of the 5 local beaches. If you are looking for a relaxing time away from the regular hustle and bustle of life then this is definitely the place for you. The location is ideal for exploring the South Shore.
“Wonderful stay at driftwood! highly recommend this cottage. There was a power outage one night which didn’t really bother us but i thought to message andy and nicola in case it was something serious and they got back to me immediately and looked it up and apparently it was a scheduled maintenance outage for the region. They had lots of candles around and were very easy to reach. We went to the white sand beach that they had recommended. It was really nice and not too busy (although maybe this is because of things only reopening now due to covid). Basic cooking things provided although just a heads up to bring your own cooking oil. Really a very charming cottage, you will not be disappointed.”
