Croco Cun is a good visit for a couple of hours. Excellent for kids of all ages. This is not a zoo in the traditional sense. The goal here is to educate both tourists and locals about native wildlife and the challenge modern life presents for each animal. It is not a self-guided zoo though, you get a personal guided tour from an experienced zoologist who will tell you about all the rescue animals, how they related to the local environment, and let you feed them (if you want). You can interact with animals and walk through ponds with pretty large crocodiles in them. Bring bug spray!

This is the closest beach to the apartment, perhaps 10 minutes by taxi. When you go through the marketing lot, proceed along the path next to OXXO store, and at the beach to RIGHT and you can rent chairs and an umbrella for MX$250 for the day. That particular restaurant has good food and drinks (some of the other drinks are not good, so go here). The restaurant to the immediate left is good too, just a bit more expensive. This beach you should arrive by 10AM (the weekend can get a bit more crowded).

The Bike path is a place of almost 30 kilometers long, the floor is completely even and in excellent condition, clean, safe, full of vegetation, it is signposted and the atmosphere is incredible, since at all hours you see people from different countries doing exercise. If you like biking, skating, running or just walking, you can do it this way, which is very safe, with several shops along the route and beautiful views of the hotels. It has rest areas under large trees and palm trees and you can even make stops along the beaches. It is recommended to protect yourself from the sun, bring a bottle of water and a towel, and be careful with cyclists who then pass near you.

2hours and a half from Puerto Morelos it is Ek Balam means Black Jaguar. The Mayan ruin of Ek Balam was occupied by the Maya from sometime between 100 b.c. and 300 a.d. until the arrival of the Spanish in the early 1500s. The peak of development at Ek Balam was between 700 a.d. and 1000 a.d. when many new buildings were constructed and many older ones were enlarged. Ek Balam was an important city in the Mayan world prior to the rise of Chichen Itza, which was founded much later. The unusual and amazingly well-preserved winged warriors uncovered at the Mayan Ruins of Ek Balam are exciting for explorers who seek to investigate the mysteries of the Mayan culture. Unlike Chichen Itza, which is about a 2-hour drive south, the temples at Ek balam were decorated in sculpted stucco rather than stone carvings. The artistic style depicting hair braids, lion cloth patterns and the skulls carved into the belts of the unusual full figured sculptures are unmatched anywhere else on the Yucatan Peninsula. These winged warriors bear a strong resemblance to the Hindu statues that decorate pyramids in Classical India.

Take a ferry from Cancun and enjoy "Island of Women". Isla Mujeres is a Mexican island in the Caribbean Sea, 13 kilometers off the coast from Cancún. At Punta Sur, the southern tip, there's a lighthouse, the remains of a Mayan temple and a sanctuary for sea turtles. We love to rent golf carts to tour the island. Its a 20 minute ferry ride and the tours offer it with breakfast and drinks for less than 50 dollars per person. Or you can go directly to the Playa Tortugas, "Ultramar" ferries are approximately 30 dollars per person to go on your own and walk to Punta Norte. If you go on your own you can also rent a golf cart to tour the island for less than 60 dollars for 4 hours.

Nice place to spend a hour or so shopping then gripping a beer and a bite to eat at the upmarket foodcourt that overlooks the Marina. They have a small Zipline there (about 10usd) which is fun for the younger kids.

Take the Ferry to Isla Mujeres from Cancun. The ride takes approx 20 min. The first crossing FROM Isla Mujeres TO Cancun is at 5:30 AM. Ferries run every half hour until 9:30 pm and then every hour until 12:00 AM (10:00 pm, 11:00 pm, 12:00 am). -To move around, book a golf cart upon arrival. -When visiting Isla Mujeres, head to Punta Sur for some downtime, refreshing drinks and amazing views.

The closest and perfect getaway, it's easy and near you can take the ferry from Puerto Juarez or Playa Tortugas in Hotel Zone, its like 30 min crossing. When you arrive you can rent a golf cart, scooter or bike to go around the island. Visit: Playa Norte (most beautiful beach, try not to go on weekends) Punta Sur (Ixchel Goodes temple and Mundaca Pirate House). Eat: Tikin Xik Fish, that the local dish.
