Monthly Rentals in Balallan

I loved my stay in the Yurt here on the Isle of Lewis! Paul was an amazing host and made me feel so welcomed. I experienced some pretty bad wind while on the island and Paul was very accommodating and helpful in case things got too bad. The only complaint I would have would be the bathroom - as a 5’10 female, it was quite the task to shower due to the slopping of the roof in the bathroom. I can’t imagine being any taller so something to consider for my fellow tall travelers. Haha regardless, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique stay in a serene location not too far from Stornoway.

Calum was a terrific, responsive host, who was attentive and knowledgeable. His property is in a great location on Lewis; near enough for a short drive to Stornaway for supplies but central on the island for all the places you will want to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will be back ;-)

Immaculate cottage with everything you could possibly require inside. Setting was idealic with it overlooking the Loch with ease of access (the swing seat was a highlight)

The house is located in a really beautiful and peaceful area, with great access to both Lewis and Harris. The house is surrounded by fields (croft), to which you have access to walk and discover the surroundings and wildlife. I really enjoyed walking down to the loch side and along the water at low tide to spot the seals every afternoon. Cathie and Les are great hosts, I had some great conversation with Les about the history of the place, wildlife, and areas to visit. The house is spotless and the view from each window out to the surroundings is incredible . Les said, "this airBnb is to us more than just handing the keys", and I think this resume really well how they welcomed us. strongly recommend!
