Lizzie's place is even better than the photos. She has a clear eye for beauty, whether it's the layout inside, the decor, or probably most impressive--the garden. The house has so much light, and you feel like you are living in the garden, which feels wonderfully private. Lizzie was so helpful, both in communications before, and during our stay. We would recommend to arrive with plenty of food already: even though the village is not far, if you're not used to the small Devon roads, you might not feel like venturing out so much on errands. But really, why would you want to, because Lizzie's place is such a haven and you have everything you need. Would definitely come back!

Emma and her husband were both great hosts, always happy to help and give great recommendations, location is great as right on edge of Dartmoor but also the sea is 20-30 minutes to get to some beautiful places they recommended. Our stay was great and very relaxing, all you could hear was the birds, hot tub was also great. Would definitely recommend to stay here

I stayed in Caroline’s shepherd’s hut for one night during my 4-day road trip around Cornwall and Devon — and it was hands down the best hut of the trip. It’s incredibly cosy, thoughtfully designed, and has everything you might need for a comfortable stay, even if you're planning to stay for a few days. The kitchen is well-equipped, so cooking meals is no problem at all. The view from the hut is just lovely – it looks out onto a peaceful field with sheep, which really adds to the charm. It was also very easy to find, which is always a plus after a long drive. The only minor downside is that the hut is located about half a mile from a highway. You might hear a bit of background noise, and it’s not ideal for stargazing, but honestly, that’s a small trade-off considering how great the overall experience is – especially at such a reasonable price. I’d absolutely stay here again.

We had a great time at the cottage, the river and gardens are absolutely beautiful! Denise was a great host full of information about activities, where to eat etc. There is a pub only a few minutes walk away where we had the best steak pie. The cottage was cosy, comfortable and had everything you needed with lots of added quirky and interesting touches. The noise from the road can be intrusive but we accepted it for what it was and enjoyed our stay in the beautiful country side.
