Footbridge Farm is a quiet country get-away located on 90 wooded acres, 15 miles NE of Decorah. We are close to the mouth of Canoe Creek, the Upper Iowa River and adjacent to state DNR land. The cozy owner-built cabin has an open ceiling with exposed beams and rafters giving a sense of spaciousness. Local stone was used in the exterior walls and the floor-to-ceiling fire back behind the wood-burning stove. The floors are oak and slate. Detailed craftsmanship can be found throughout the cabin.

Very nice home in a quiet neighborhood. Vey close to downtown and easily accessible walkable. Owners provide proactive communication and just the right amount of communication. The home is very nice inside and we enjoyed the craftsmanship and the outside seating areas. Only thing I will mention and nothing the hosts can do is the driveway. If you have a car you will scrape the front of your car on the steep incline off the street. This does not change the review because there is ample off street parking.

Very friendly and welcoming! The surroundings reminded me of the good ol' days, with plenty of Amish buggies. There was plenty to see and do, just wish we would of had more time to see more. It was extremely peaceful, and an enjoyable stay!

Perfect for a girls weekend to explore Lanesboro and surroundings! We had lots of fun walking around town and visiting all the shops. Only thing to note is that it is not exactly 1 bedroom with 4 single beds, upstairs there is 1 bedroom with 2 single beds and before, at the top of the stairs without a door, is a bed with a rolling bed underneath. All very comfortable but not as much privacy.

We were so happy with Grant’s place. It was perfectly located and perfectly welcoming, very comfortable, very clean, very nicely decorated. It was very pleasant to stay there. A short walk from Vesterheim and all the downtown. Also he was very responsive and helpful. We wanted to extend our stay an extra day and he helped us do that. A perfect host, house and location. We enjoyed the comfortable house and we enjoyed being able to walk everywhere and stop back by the house for lunch or a quick break. Thanks so much

Absolutely loved staying at Dan's Place. Although I had tried to get a place in town for Luther graduation, Dan's house turned out to be perfect. It was only a 15 min drive from Decorah, and it was so idyllic country living. None of us had ever stayed out in a rural farm like setting before, so it was really a dream. The red barn and the cows down the street! The house was certainly big enough for 4 of us. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The bedrooms are large as are the beds with lots of storage. Two baths were spic n span clean with lots of towels for all of us.
