Cottage vacation rentals in Zahara-El Gastor Reservoir

Peaceful stay for a week. Beautiful elevated location with panoramic views. Rocabella restaurant at the bottom of the track was great if you dont feel like venturing out far, with a varied menu from light bites to main dishes with burgers, steaks and fish.. My advice would would be to grab some basic groceries from a supermarket prior to going up to the house i.e coffee, bread eggs , drinks etc. I travelled with my ederly mother and the accomodation was suitable for our needs as she is unable to manage steps. There is one twin room downstairs with a bathroom and walk in shower which is next to the kitchen , lounge and outside patio so easy access for her with limited mobility. its would not be suitable for a wheelchair however. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with doors opening onto a patio with table and chairs, perfect for your morning coffee to relish the sun rise and sunsets, and also affording privacy if travelling with others in your group. I throughly enjoyed my stay. 😊

Super mooie finca met prachtig zwembad. Ons huisje was top en had een fantastisch uitzicht vanaf het terras en vanuit de jacuzzi!

Casita muy acogedora y bonita, no le faltaba detalles. Lo que más nos gustó fue el jacuzzi y la chimenea. Buen lugar para desconectar. Lorena muy atenta y respondiendo a todas nuestras dudas. Muy recomendable, repetiremos 100%.

Diego is one of the best hosts I’ve worked with on Airbnb! He allowed a very flexible check in, he is wonderfully communicative and friendly, and very energetic. His country home is a labor of love, and perfect for a family to stay. Unique experience about 10 minutes outside Setenil de las Bodegas, as he has chickens, turtles, turkeys, and all manner of produce growing. The showers were hot, the beds comfortable, and the kitchens well stocked. Great outdoor spaces for relaxing. The one thing is about the third bedroom/loft; it is a VERY short ceiling, so our third couple (who are on the taller side) preferred to sleep on the sofa bed. Would certainly recommend Diego’s home to anyone and would return.

Todo perfecto, la zona exterior muy cuidada y bonita. Fiel al anuncio. no tuvimos ninguna complicación para llegar y acceder y eso que nuestra llegada fue bastante tarde. Nos lo guardamos para repetir.

We stayed for 7 days in May , we swam in the pool each day and used the jacuzzi in the evening. It was exactly as advertised, spotless, neat and tidy. The car was a great advantage as the towns are a bit away. Kila was a most helpful and kind host and easy to contact if required. Beautiful mountain and valley scenery and so quiet and peaceful.

This villa is like heaven on earth! I have never been to a more beautiful place in my life.. the surroundings are paradise.. large cypress trees surround the villa and large extensive grounds.. there is a beautiful large celebrity worthy pool and stunning log table with Greek style tiled gazebo! The villa was clean and comfortable and had everything you could possibly need! There are fabulous tennis courts and plenty of seating in the grounds over looking the acres of land! Every corner had something more fabulous! We also had visits from a gorgeous little dog which made our trip! I cannot praise this beautiful place enough! Heaven on earth!!!!

We had a wonderful 2-week stay at Casas de Almajar in July of 2024. My 7yo daughter and I were there along with friends, for a total of two adults and 2-3 kids at any given moment, ages 6-10. This accommodation was perfect for us. The house was cozy and stayed relatively cool during the very hot daytime hours (plus there was an A/C unit we could use when needed). We prepared most of our meals at the house and found that easy to manage with the supplies on hand. The pool was definitely the highlight of the location: it was pristine and extremely pleasant during the hot days. We spent hours there every day. The house is located uphill from most of Prado del Rey so you need to be prepared for some steep, hilly walking when you stay here, but it was only a <5 min walk to the main pedestrian walkway (lined with bars and cafes) or the town square. Juana was very helpful with local information and suggestions, from supermarkets and restaurants to nearby hiking trails. A great place!

L’hôte était très accueillante, sympathique et prévenante. Elle répondait rapidement à mes questions/demandes et veillait à ce que nous soyons confortables et satisfaits. Elle est vraiment une super hôte! D’autre part, la maison est très jolie et confortable. Tout était à notre goût! La cuisine est petite mais fonctionnelle et nous pouvions cuisiner de bons repas. Le lit est aussi très confortable.

Wir waren ganz begeistert von dem schönen Häuslein von Ana Maria. Hübsch am Hang gelegen mit Blick auf die kreisenden Geier und Landschaft, schöner Pool, Küche voller Lebensmittel (Wurst, Käse, Tortilla, Eier, Kartoffeln, Zwiebeln, Milch, leckrer Rotwein, Joghurt...) - der Wahnsinn. Dazu war es blitzsauber. Mehrere schöne pueblos blancos wie Ronda, Olvera, Zahara de la Sierra zum Entdecken und Wanderwege in der Nähe (meist ca. 30min Fahrt). Super schnelle und unkomplizierte Kommunikation.

From the moment we booked Carlos’ beautiful house he was the perfect host. Sending directions the day before, meeting us at the house to show us around then leaving us to enjoy the break we had been so looking forward to. Carlos was always there if we needed him. The house is perfect for families with a small very private apartment literally 30m from the back of the house. The main house itself is full of character with air conditioning but actually not required as the stone building kept many of the rooms really cool despite the 34 degree temperatures outside. The kids were never out of the pool which was very safe and very clean. The kitchen is brilliant for the family evening gatherings and sharing main meals or breakfast outside. Due to the Google directions Carlos sent we literally went straight to the house within 1hr 15 mins from leaving Malaga airport. The solitary neighbour is very friendly and offered some tips on where to visit. La Ronda is beautiful too. Thank you

Wirklich ein kleines Paradies. Wir haben uns in der Woche sehr sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Wohnung und der Aussenbereich sind liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Die Aussicht ist überwältigend. Martine und Ron sind ganz tolle Gastgeber, schon allein der Empfang mit Tapas und kühlen Getränken. Das Auto sollte nicht zu groß sein da das Einparken schon eine kleine Herausforderung ist.

Juan José el propietario fue una persona súper amable y educada. La casa de encuentra en una ubicación super bonita y tiene absolutamente todas las cómodidades que se pueden llegar a necesitar en una casa. 100% Recomendable, si vuelvo por la zona está sería mi primera opción de alojamiento

This is our second time staying at this villa. It is a very beautiful area and so peaceful. We can happily ensure we have all we need and not leave the place. Lise is amazing. She looks after the place so well and when she has been to clean pool or water the plants you don't even know. She comes very early so as not to disturb but if you see her have a chat, she is a lovely lady with lots of knowledge!

A really great stay! Perfect location to relax away from the noise but a quick drive to Marbella if needed. The place has all the amenities you need and the private pool is great. We would definitely stay here again.

Buenas, el sitio es muy bonito, lo tiene todo muy cuidado y limpio, tiene de todo en la casa tanto homenaje del hogar como que te da facilidades en todos los aspectos, muy amable y pendiente de sus huéspedes. Gracias, repetiría la experiencia sin dudarlo.

Los días que estuvimos en el alojamiento fueron fantásticos, todo se adecuaba a nuestra necesidades. Un parece excepcional, donde disfrutar de la naturaleza o de la ciudad.

Uns hat es sehr gut in der Unterkunft gefallen. Die Lage zu einigen touristischen Punkten wie Ronda oder dem Caminito del Rey war super, die Terassen des Grundstücks und der Pool toll. Auch innen ist das Haus mit Liebe zum Detail ausgestattet, nur die Küche könnte etwas besser ausgerüstet sein. Herzlichen Dank für die tolle Zeit!

Die Lage ist perfekt, wir haben viele Orte besucht die Gegend ist wunderbar als Startpunkt aber auch wenn man ruhige Tage in Abgeschiedenheit verbringen möchte. Ein Auto ist unverzichtbar, um nahe gelegene Orte bzw. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten oder Bars und Restaurants zu besuchen. Am nächsten ist das Dorf El Gastor in Entfernung von 30 km liegt das meist fotografierte Städtchen Ronda mit zahlreichen exzellenten Bars, Sehenswürdigkeiten und Geschäften. Dieser Ort hat auch Zugverbindung mit Malaga, Sevilla und weiteren Städten, falls man doch lieber mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln reisen möchte. Das Haus hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen, es ist einfach traumhaft schön und bietet Ausblick auf zauberhafte Landschaft und Dörfer wie z.B. Zahara. Im Haus ist alles erforderliche vorhanden. Wir hatten Startschwierigkeiten, aber Dank Unterstützung von Miguel konnten wir unsere Pläne doch noch umsetzen. Er hat in kürzester Zeit auf unsere Fragen reagiert und stand uns mit Tat und Rat bei Seite.
