“Sharon's cottage is a converted barn, situated in a nice old ry good, tho' popularvillage, ideally positioned for Matlock, Bakewell etc but without the crowds. You will find the cottage absolutely spotless with comfortable rooms, a well-equipped kitchen and bathrooms, plus plenty of games for evenings in. We ate at the Old Bowling Green pub, about 3"-5" away - very popular, so book) and an extremely well-stocked village shop close by. The walks from Winster are beautiful (we did the 4 miler in the local guide book in the cottage) and theres's plenty to see without needing to drive miles.”
Nestled in pretty picture-postcard Winster, in the heart of the Peak District National Park, 300 year old Lancaster Cottage is the perfect luxury bolt-hole for those who want to get away from it all. In a peaceful, tranquil position with original features including cosy fireplace, huge settee & a dreamy, romantic bedroom with king-sized comfy bed with lovely views over the hills & private cottage garden. Ideally situated, only minutes on foot from 2 cosy real-ale pubs & lots of great walking.
“Katie's cottage is everything as described in the listing : cosy, gorgeous, romantic, luxurious, ideally situated. It was pretty much perfect and so hard to fault that we're not going to try. Spotlessly clean, tastefully appointed, large gorgeous sofa to lose yourself in, lovely king-size bed, great wifi connection etc etc. The small detached garden is also beautiful and very private, and would be a superb location for chilling out with a glass of wine in the evening (difficult for us as it was December, but we still enjoyed having coffee there on a couple of mornings). We were there for Christmas and really appreciated the thoughtful touches waiting to greet us on arrival (decorations and bottle of wine). Katie is undoubtedly a great host, we highly recommend her cottage and look forward to staying again in the near future.”
Railwayman's Cottage is a comfortable 19th century terraced home in the heart of Derbyshire, very close to both Chatsworth House and the Peak District town of Bakewell, and backing on to the beautiful River Derwent that winds gently through the historic village of Rowsley. With lovely views and full of warmth and personality, it is ideal as a base for you to explore this wonderful part of the world.
“Such a lovely, comfortable little cottage with so many really kind touches. It was my birthday weekend and Emma left a lovely note and some chocolates! There were plenty of blankets and hot water bottles, snacks and breakfast treats including milk in the fridge and condiments if you wanted to cook. Really difficult to fault this cottage, and the communication from Emma was great. We ate at Caudwell’s Mill which is a super little vegetarian cafe, the food at the Grouse and Claret was just ok but convenient as it’s within walking distance and perfect with small children.”
