Vacation rentals in Williston

We have stayed in most of the guesthouses in and around Williston and this one was by far the most comfortable for a large group. We were worried about the lack of air conditioning but the fans were very effective. We had a little incident with a spider in one of the beds but that tends to be unavoidable in the Karoo. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and far better than the others I have been to in town.

Karin’s cottage is a gem, as is Fraserburg. We took the road less travelled on new years day, and arrived without supplies at our overnight stop, as all shops along our route was closed. Karin came to the rescue with firewood, fresh veg from their patch and a fancy bottle of wine! The house was lovely and we had the a great nights rest before hitting the road again. Hospitality like this isn’t found under every rock.

What a beautiful soul Cora is! We met in town before driving to the farm, her directions were spot-on. The linen and towels were clean, fresh and the bed was perfect. A gas fridge/freezer kept the milk cold and the icepacks frozen. Never experienced a gas fridge/freezer that worked this well. A solar panel provides sufficient light inside and outside & power to charge phones, run a fan and small FM radio. The water in the dam is crystal clear. Long walks, the silence, the whispering wind and the most beautiful starlit sky - to us this was soul food! Even firing up the donkey for hot water completed the experience. Instructions on how to leave the cottage upon our departure were clear and hassle-free. Thank you for the most delicious rusks, Cora! We loved our stay. We highly recommend for anyone to meet Cora, experience her warm welcome and hospitality and visit the Sinkhuisie. And don't leave Williston without buying Karoo Red Meat!!

Thank you Helena and Kobus for letting me spend a few nights in your farm cabin. The bread that you gave me and food prepared by Denise was really delicious. Simple farm living and yet amazing stargazing experience at night.

The stay at the Corbelled house was nothing short of magnificent. The photos don’t do it justice! The expansive environment and attention to detail in the home is amazing. A beautiful time warp. And Charlene - who runs the farm and cares for the guests is wonderful. Thank you!

Catharinas cottage is located on a lovely Karoo Sheep farm - the farmhouse and outbuildings are exceptionally well maintained, as is the cottage which was pristine and well equipped. Although the farmhouse is only a kilometer away, there is a feeling of privacy and peacefulness. We visited Williston in order to enjoy the Williston Agricultural Show, which we attended on all three days and is well organized and attended with a focus on Saddle Bred Horses, small livestock and great traditional food. Highly recommended for a taste of Karoo hospitality. Ockie and Catharina were exceptionally friendly and helpful and we hope to visit again within the year.
