Williams Landing is a new suburb, which takes its name from the historic aviation base on which it's located. RAAF Williams Airfield.
Located only 19 km south-west of Melbourne and with a train station less than 10 minutes’ walk away, getting around is easy.
There is a handy supermarket directly across the road, as well as some good restaurants and cafes, so you'll never go hungry!
Easy access to and from Melbourne International Airport (30 mins) and Avalon Airport (25 mins) at non peak times by car, taxi or Uber.
Car - depending on the type of stay you're after and where you want to go, we recommend that you have a car (a free and secure undercover car space is available for your use).
Please remember to drive on the LEFT in Australia.
Public Transport - the train to Melbourne takes approx 30 mins (express). We recommend downloading the PTV (Public Transport Victoria) app to help plan your travel.
myki cards can be purchased at a Williams Landing station.
Walking - exploring on foot is easy in Williams Landing, as the area is very flat. There are parks and lots of paths for you to get around.
Feeling adventurous?
Head further west to the You Yangs Regional Park (approx 30 mins). Catering for all ages and abilities, you can walk through some of Victoria's most beautiful bushland via designated walking tracks.
Werribee Park and Mansion (approx 20 mins) - 10 acres of stunning gardens and grounds to explore, as well as the mansion itself. Pack a picnic (we'll supply the picnic blanket) and spend a relaxing afternoon at the park. Great for kids and entry is free on non event days.
Williamstown (approx 25 mins) - well known for its great gelato shops, but there's also some lovely restaurants, or grab some fish and chips and sit by water as you admire views of the city....just mind the seagulls!
Wyndham Harbour (approx 20 mins) - drive past the many large market gardens where much of Victoria's fresh produce is grown. Wyndham Harbour is a new development, which includes a marina and parkland. Book in for a sailing lesson, or grab a woodfired pizza and enjoy the great city views from 3030 Boulevard, a restaurant created using shipping containers.
Torquay and Bells Beach (approx 1 hour) - seaside resort towns and the official start point of the Great Ocean Road. Bells Beach is home of the world famous Rip Curl Pro surf competition. As expected, these towns are extremely busy during summer, so expect longer driving times and big crowds in the warmer months.
Daylesford and Hepburn Springs (approx 90 mins) - the beautiful spa region in central Victoria, makes for a fantastic day trip. Enjoy gourmet food and wines, walk through historic gardens and if pampering is more your style, rejuvenate in spas and natural mineral springs, or book a relaxing massage. Advanced bookings are recommended.
