Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Western North Carolina

We had a wonderful stay at this “Slow Pace” Airbnb with our children and two dogs! The home was comfortable and inviting, with a fantastic backyard that we all enjoyed. The living room was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring, and the location couldn’t have been better—we loved being able to walk downtown and appreciated the easy access to Montreat. Another great perk was the nearby mom-and-pop convenience store, where we could easily pick up extra drinks and snacks. It was close enough that the kids could even walk over by themselves, which was a nice bonus! The hosts were thoughtful in every detail, from providing plenty of coffee for our entire stay to the extra special touch of a bottle of wine waiting for us on our first night. We would absolutely stay here again!

Erin's place is exactly as described - very warm, inviting, beautiful outdoors. Our stay was short, but it was a perfect spot for what we had planned for the long weekend. Erin checked in with us after arriving just to make sure there were no issues - she was kind enough to let us get into the house earlier than normal. There were fresh eggs and butter that was enjoyed for breakfast. She normally makes homemade bread as well but happened to be out of town during our stay - she apologized! Next time we are in Ashville, we will most definitely stay again - and hope to enjoy that bread! Thank you Erin

My wife, 4-legged son, and I stayed here for a business trip. Home and yard were perfect for our needs. Althought the road in fron was a little busy at times, no problems or noise were experienced. We would stay here again.

As described! Just a few minutes from main road and access to everything. Very cozy. It honestly felt like home away from home. Very accommodating as well.

Gabrielle and Eric were incredible hosts even in really difficult circumstances. During our stay hurricane Helene hit NC and there was a lot of flooding and trees falling. As with a lot of NC the water, power and cell service went out but Gabrielle went above and beyond to make sure that we had food and water and light. The entire area was affected including their own home but they still checked in with us and kept us updated on what they heard about the situation and had the culvert to the cabin rebuilt on the same day. Aside from the events the airbnb was lovely. It’s modern inside with sizeable rooms and more than enough space for the three of us. It was clean and warm and well stocked. We had our toddler with us and she had a great time with the toy box provided. We also really appreciated the high chair and children’s cutlery/crockery provided.

We had a wonderful and peaceful week long stay at Barbara’s cozy home. We are on the road 100% of the time we cooked every meal in and it felt like home. The kitchen was well equipped, the bed was comfortable and the linens, so soft. The water pressure was amazing, which can be a concern in an older home. We played music ate well, and relaxed during our time off. Our hosts were incredibly warm and gracious, and we loved using the fresh herbs growing on the front porch! It was so nice not to have a list of chores to complete upon check out. We highly recommend this particularly if you are working at the Steven Tanger theatre while in town.

The house was perfect for our quick weeeknd trip and charming as pictured. April sent us clear instructions on exactly how to get to the entrance and where to park. Perfect location and plenty of options to enjoy the area. We will be sure to look for availability here for our next trip to Asheville!

Ms Cheryl is as friendly as they come she made us feel like we were home she greeted us when we got there and showed us around everything was was perfect Boonies restaurant is right next door at Davis marina and that’s all you need we will definitely plan another trip for stripers again thank you and take care

My mother had knee replacement surgery at the Iredell Hospital, so we needed a place to stay in the Statesville area. This apartment was comfortable, items were supplied like shampoo, hand soap, body wash, garbage bags, dish soap, laundry tabs, coffee, creamer, sugar etc... A Food Lion grocery store, Dollar Store, gas stations, a Thai, Mexican, and pub are not far from the apartment. The owner was very responsive when I requested for someone to come scrape off the ice from the outside walkway and steps down so when my mom needed to leave to go to a doctor appointment, she could get out without slipping. This was handled in a very timely manner and was much appreciated. All around good stay.

Our family enjoyed this stay. Cute place, animals to visit and farm fresh eggs! No television but all the better to disconnect. Everything we needed plus some. The sauna was an amazing added bonus for the adults. So many homey touches and extras too. We hope to come back!

This was perfect for quick weekend trip as a single female. The apartment itself is much bigger than the pictures make it appear. It's spacious, well-kept, and beautifully decorated. The furniture is a little dated, but it's very comfortable and enjoyable. Super soft bed, many places have really uncomfortable mattresses, that's not the case here. I did not want to get out of bed. Super walkable to everything I wanted/needed to do and I felt safe even venturing out at night. My only recommendation would be to update the outdoor furniture on the balcony.

I had a nice quiet peaceful stay. It is a great location for trials at Rising Star Canine Ranch. The hosts were super nice and accommodating. I hope to book this place again.

Only stayed for 2 nights for a cheer comp, so we wasn’t in the condo very long. Will say the location is excellent, place is clean, and was quiet. Very spacious place, tv’s in every room. If you are planned on using the pool it is on the small side, 7-8 people probably max and only 4ft. I would stay again and would recommend.

Trey’s place hit all the marks for what I needed - clean, cozy, comfy, and affordable. Bonus points for an amazing loose leaf tea selection, gorgeous mountain views at sunrise and sunset, and close to everything I wanted to do in the area. (Grandfather Mtn, Linville Falls, Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster were on my list - did them all in a day.) All instructions were clear and easy, and I had everything I needed for an enjoyable weekend away in the NC mountains. Go stay here and support western NC!! I hope to come back again soon :)

My husband and I loved staying at Connie’s condo! It was the PERFECT location for getting out and exploring Pigeon Forge. We will definitely be staying here any time we come back to Pigeon Forge!

The pictures didn’t do the place justice. The place was very nice and exactly what we needed.

We'll be back next year! Really great! Came in late at night but lights were on welcoming us. Absolutely perfectly clean, including the condo exterior. The kitchen was the most equipped I've ever seen. We could have prepared a Thanksgiving meal (including a mash potato masher). Really quiet, spacious and absolutely clean. Loved all the bear decorations and feeding the ducks & geese outside by the river. Thank you!

We enjoyed our stayed for Valentine’s Day. The host was very responsive.
